Kalithea Horizon Royal

We stayed at Kalithea Horizon Royal from May 15th-22nd and had a very enjoyable stay. However, there are a few things to note before booking. Resort: - Resort is beautiful, with lots of places to eat, drink and relax by the pool. - Hotel and resort was kept very clean and tidy, there is also helpful signposting to find your way around. - Hotel was generally quiet and relaxing. - There was a consistent smell of sewage, mainly outside but sometimes inside the hotel as well which wasn’t too pleasant. Pool: - We never had trouble finding a sun bed to relax on, which was ideal. - The pool area was kept clean and tidy. - We found the outdoor pools quite cold. Room: - We stayed in room 441, which was perfectly situated in the middle of the resort (very close to pools, restaurants, bars etc). - Rooms were spacious and clean, with comfy beds as well. - Definitely worth upgrading to a sea view, we had an amazing view from our balcony. Service: - The staff at the reception desk were welcoming and helpful in answering any questions we had throughout our stay. - The bar staff were very nice and friendly (especially Savvas, who went above and beyond for us and was so kind and accommodating). It was our friend’s birthday one of the evenings and Savvas brought over drinks with sparklers which was a lovely gesture. - Restaurant service (generally speaking) was a bit poor. We were rarely greeted by and staff and often found our selves sitting at a table for 10-15 minutes before the table was set (one server pretty much threw our cutlery onto the table one lunch time as she was passing). - Getting served drinks in the restaurants was also a bit of a nightmare. We noticed the tables around us getting a lot more service than us and we often had to go and get our own drinks from the bar. - We did notice that the restaurants appeared quite short staffed at times, which we completely sympathise with, but it is a little bit disappointing when you notice servers prioritising certain guests over others (not sure if this has something to do with us being British, but we did feel that guests of other nationalities did receive better service than us). Transport: - Booking a taxi at reception was very easy and the taxi drivers arrived promptly in our experience. - The golf buggy’s are a nice touch, we got driven to our room with our suitcases upon arrival, and back to reception ready for departure. - There is a location in the resort where you can wait to be driven to the nearby beach. We didn’t have to wait too long and the views from the beach were incredible. - The golf buggy service is completely free. Location: - Hotel is close to Rhodes Town, just a short 15 minute taxi journey (costing around €15-€20 each way). - From our experience, there wasn’t an awful lot to do in Kalithea, so we didn’t explore the local area too much. Food and drink: - The food was good for the most part, there was lots to choose from and different places to eat. - We never left t

We took a sudden break from cold and wasn't disappointed! Rooms are big, we had a room with seaview which was stunning. Lots of restaurants and pools, we spend our days in Mythos pool and poolbar with excellent service in the bar, sorry, don't remember any names but staff was always smiling and did great drinks! Mythos was also quiet, no music except daily zumba in the pool, which was nice. Two cloudy/rainy days which were good days to go to old town and take good naps! We ate dinners at buffet and Foula (hope I remembered your name right) was amazing, always smiling, remembering what we drink and read our wishes before we said anything! Also in the Helios bar, young waiter, thanks for cuba libres and mojitos and smiles! We had a blast! Little hazzle with late check out which was handled superbly. There is lots of walks, and up and downs while walking, but you can get a buggy ride when needed. We will come back!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The place is kept spotlessly clean and the views are stunning. Our five year old loved the splash pool and slides. Plenty of food options and two vegetarians in our family had plenty to choose from. Beach is sand and shingle and was a bit disappointing we had to pay, but other nationalities got it free as part of their AI. We still enjoyed our days at the beach though. As a rule we don’t go back to the same place twice, but would make an exception in the future for this place.

Lovely hotel. The views are fabulous, the staff exceptionally friendly and an excellent variety of food. The hotel has several lovely pools, two of which have brilliant picturesque sea views, as well as a kids pool with slides etc. The rooms have been refurbished and are immaculately maintained by the lovely maids. The entertainment team are also active but not overbearing and a fabulous team. I would also like to mention the lovely administration staff who are very involved with the stray cats within the hotel grounds and ensure they are fed and cared for throughout the year, as well as helping tourists with adoptions. I met these wonderful ladies on my final day and it is reassuring that the hotel supports vulnerable animals. We loved this hotel and will definitely return. Thanks so much

Our 3rd visit to this hotel ( only place we've ever returned). Despite the title it's still an excellent choice but a couple of issues this time. The most annoying was ants. Every night we had at least half a dozen in the room. The balcony was infested and the runner's of the onto the balcony were full of dead ants. The entertainment was much more mixed quality than previous visits but though still generally ok with 2 or 3 excellent. On positive notes the staff are excellent, food and drink good and it's handy for buses to Rhodes town. Overall still a place we'll return but definitely not the same room!

5th time for two weeks. Cannot be more satisfied. Nice roms with astonishing seawiew. Great inviting poolarea Superb All Inclusive Wonderful romantic evening restaurant Fantastic friendly staff and servants. I just agree with TINA TURNER... SIMPLY THE BEST
