Hotel Dock Suites Rome

Just back from 4 night stay at this little gem, room was a junior suite and very spacious with great aircon which was appreciated given the heatwave.We didn't book breakfast as we were out early every morning but some free croissants were left in the room daily which was nice, It's located out of the city but metro is a 3 minute walk away and you are in Termini in another couple of minutes. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and spoke quite good English. Plenty of shops, bars and cafe's nearby. There is a superb restaurant near enough next door called Gran Sasso which was superb and quite cheap for Rome, we ate there 4 nights in a row.

What a fantastic hotel in a really good area of Rome. Myself, husband and 16 year old daughter stayed here for 3 nights at the end of Sept 2019. The staff are wonderful, they cannot help you enough and were very pleasant saying hello whenever you passed or left to leave the hotel. It was a small and very personal hotel. The room was fantastic, really big and spotless clean. Everyday when we returned there was fresh crossiant's left for us for the morning with jam, tea and coffee. There is a mini bar in the room and this is all in a good sized fridge. We bought drinks and snacks from the local shops and kept these in the fridge with no issues. The metro and public bus services are also great - very cheap to jump on and off as you visit the different sights and the nearest metro is only a couple of mins walk up the street. There is a rooftop garden and I cannot stress how nice this is, we came back around 9ish in the evening from long days of sight seeing and dinner and sat up here with our drinks. It was so pleasant. Please visit the Gran Sasso Restaurant round the corner it is brilliant. So reasonably priced and they make you feel really welcome. Just along the street is a whole area of shops, restaurants and bar's with plenty of choice. I would 100% stay in this hotel again when returning to Rome and I cannot recommend it enough.

I recently stayed here with my young family as a base to explore Rome. We initially walked to the hotel from Termini (you will likely get the bus here if coming from Ciampino airport) in little over 20 minutes. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly, allowed to check in early and given a map of sites to see during our stay. The room was comfortable, clean, warmly styled in a wooden panel design and had everything you need including extra pillows, plenty of towels, a wonderful jacuzzi bath (excellent for after a long day of exploring), tea and coffee, free snacks and a fridge with reasonably priced snacks to buy but also plenty of room if you wished to buy from a nearby grocery shop. We then walked to the Villa Borghese in around 30 minutes, and after visiting the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain (wonderful at night) we walked back in around 20 minutes, always feeling safe. On our second day we started using the Metro, Policlinico station (B line) is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, you are 2 stops (max 10 minutes) to Termini where you can get the A line to sights such as Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps or if you stay on the B line your 5 stops total (15 mins) from the Colosseum. There are restaurants nearby, we liked a pizza place called Mastro Pizza where on our first visit we got 4 decent sized slices of pizza, 3 soft drinks and a Peroni for €15.... On check out day we were allowed to leave our luggage and spend another day exploring before nipping back on the metro, grabbing our gear then travelling the 2 stops to Termini for the bus to the airport. The price paid for this hotel represented excellent value for money, location was well connected by the Metro and not unreasonable for walking and the staff were helpful and gave a warm welcome regardless of the time of day.
