We spent 2 nights last weekend at the Parco dei Principi, Rome. The service we received was excellent!! Unfortunately our flight was cancelled 2 hours before our departure from the UK, however, I called the concierge at 4am to tell them we were on a different flight and they were fabulous!! Our transfer was there ready and waiting. The hotel had our room ready and waiting at 11am in the morning! Housekeeping was immaculate and the reception staff were just 5*! The outdoor pool was a wonderful release from the heat last weekend. Even though the hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the city centre, we found it a perfect location. We will definitely return!! Thank you Parco dei Principi!

Stepping through the foyer of this hotel is like stepping back in time. With its elegant and lavish furnishings, together with its well-informed, polite and smartly dressed staff, you cannot fail to be impressed. They literally could not do enough to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. The bedrooms are traditionally furnished as you would expect from a hotel of this calibre, but came complete with great air-conditioning, fridge, safe, bathrobe and slippers as well as lovely toiletries. We were lucky enough to have a balcony which overlooked the stunning swimming pool, and our room was very quiet. Food around the pool as well as at breakfast was excellent and the service was superb. The swimming pool and grounds are elegant and peaceful, and the hotel is just a 25 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, but you could be a million miles away from Rome as it feels so tranquil here. The biggest surprise is the amazing spa underneath the hotel which has to be seen to be believed. It is as modern as the hotel is traditional - we were just sorry that we didn’t have enough time to enjoy it! I honestly cannot praise this hotel highly enough, and we cannot wait to go back next year!

Wonderful historical hotel with a beautiful large inside and outside pool. It is definitely worth taking the rooms overlooking the park (villa Borghese), dominating a sea of greenery and St Peter dome afar. We reserved the cheaper non refurbished rooms which were luxurious but slightly outdated, particularly the bathrooms. I asked to visit the newly refurbished rooms which are definitely up to five star international standards. If I were to reserve again, I would go for the refurbished rooms. Overall a wonderful family week with our teenage daughters who really enjoyed the pools.

Had a a fabulous 3 night stay here. We deliberately chose this hotel for the pool as Rome was super hot at the time of year we went. We headed out every morning at 8 830 for the sights and had a few hours by the pool in the afternoon it was perfect. Decor is stunning like stepping back in time. Room was gorgeous with one of the most comfiest hotel beds I have stayed in. Bathroom had all the toiletries you would need, comp water every day, full minibar, bathrobes etc. It was lovely. Breakfast was fabulous with fizz if you were inclined. Pool area was stunning lots of loungers and great food and drink service. The hotel is a good 35/45 minute walk from sights, we didn’t mind this in the day but taxied at night circa 20E to get into town so it’s just something to consider. As others have mentioned the prices in the hotel were ridiculously high. We ate is some amazing restaurants and hotel bars in the main city and didn’t pay as much. It probably puts people off buying as much and probably why the bar in the evening is incredibly quiet so we never drank there in the evening. If you want a pool I would highly recommend, I preferred it over the Cavilerie.

Like stepping back in time! We booked at the last minute as we were originally planning on staying in the city centre but due to it being 37 degrees plus we changed to a hotel with a swimming pool. We did sightseeing in the morning and sat by the pool in the afternoon. Downside taxis’s for the 5 of us were €20each way. The staff are extremely helpful and polite, rooms large and spacious. The only observation was the food around the pool was really poor. We ordered 3 dishes on the first day and all were really disappointing. We didn’t eat dinner so can’t comment on that.

We enjoyed this place so much. The desk staff and the bellman were all very friendly and accommodating. The all-star of the event was Luigi, our bartender. He remembered us and our drinks after the first day. Awesome guy. The AC worked. Room service was top notch as well. The pool food and cocktails were grand. Located in a quieter neighborhood and on the Northside of Bourghesi Park. The Beatles stayed here in 1965. Can't wait to go back!

Reserved this stay over a year ago, to meet the Cunard Queen Victoria, but three weeks before departure, Cunard sent out an email saying unspecified maintenance work would have to be done during our voyage, and we’d be stuck in Barcelona 3 days, and miss other ports etc. So I had to switch my cruise, plus all hotels, flights and rides, at the last minute, including this hotel. I came here to experience Rome again for 3 days (I lived here as a child for awhile), and now to meet the Cunard Queen Anne ship. Beautiful, elegant, classic hotel, right on the Borghese park, with an outdoor swimming pool and a full service Spa that also has a pool and large jacuzzi pool. Lovely, safe, clean, quiet neighborhood. The rooms are opulent- lovely, ornate Italian style. My first room though, #123, checking in late and exhausted from travel, was sort of a one of a kind, as far from the elevator as possible, first floor, no natural light, as the tiny balcony was at the back, opposite the closet- so no “view” at all. Then the air con wasn’t working properly so I was roasting- but too tired to deal with it. The shower would also go boiling hot, then normal, every minute, so you had to keep moving out of the way, to not get scalded- I noticed this was fixed during my visit. In the morning I asked to be moved, but was told my “room category was sold out, they would try, but they were fully booked.” But I looked at their website online, and there was availability in every room category for my next two nights. I found this very odd. I was finally moved, and my next room was normal, in fact, they upgraded me from a Single to a double. They are all beautifully furnished and appointed, but the first one I was in is just odd- with no light, and the one window in the back etc. The complimentary breakfast included in my rate was nice. The views from the restaurant and bar are beautiful, and you can sit outside. The pool area is great for kids, who maybe don’t appreciate the wonders of Rome, as adults do. There is food and drink available at the pool, and I had a very nice Carpaccio with Arugula there. You can have dinner at the elegant bar, or the restaurant. The hotel is a bit of a walk to the tourist sights, or you can take a taxi. Many enjoy the walk through Borghese park. I had a Pasta Carbonara at the bar, and I must say, it was not good- very disappointing. My artichoke appetizer was very nice though. And the barman was very helpful and informative. I had been looking forward to the Lasagna, mentioned in the online menu, so I went to the restaurant my final night, but the menu had changed. The Maitre D kindly said I could order what had been listed previously, so I got the Pasta Bolognese, I’d seen the day before- it didn’t sit well with me, and I was up most of the night- very uncomfortable. Not sure why. Honestly, I wouldn’t not stay in Rome again during their busy season- people are just stressed. Even the driver from the airport- he didn’t crack a smile. Also, when I

Complete disaster of a hotel. I am sure it was a decent luxury hotel in the 90s but it is completely falling a part in terms of quality and service. The rooms are tiny and unpractical and plumbing does not work. We are a family staying in 2 adjoining rooms. The showers in both rooms are broken with water leaking everywhere, you are at risk of burning yourself because the water temperature goes from freezing to boiling hot regardless out of nowhere. I am am 185/6ft1 normal height but it is impossible to take a comfortable shower since everything is too small/low. The cleaning of the rooms are constantly happening when we are in the rooms not during the 8+ hours per day that we are outside. The restaurant is insanely overpriced but most importantly the quality of food is sub par. I ordered a steak with came out like a shoe sole completely over done, ordered a Negroni that was lukewarm and wrong quantity of gin/vermouth/campari. We picked the hotel since we are traveling with kids and wanted a pool to get a break from long days of walking in the city. The service by the pool are is non-existent, you arrive and nobody offers any help. Only when you find a place to sit, some "lifeguard" appears and says no these sunbeds are "reserved". There were plenty of empty places around the pool but everything was booked. We have booked two rooms for 5 people and still would only get 2 sunbeds in the worst location and had to go and get the towels ourselves. The pool are seems to be mostly occupied by people who are not hotel guests but have day passes and appear to be there for other "business interests". After the first day at the hotel we seriously contemplated checking out and reserving another hotel but decided to stay since it was too much hassle to pack and unpack again. Regretting this now. We travel a lot and stay in so many hotels and this is by far the worst experience we've had in many, many years. Avoid at all cost!

As its name suggests, this really is a “grand” hotel! From the breathtaking lobby to the beautifully decorated rooms and lavish breakfast buffet, it offers a luxurious yet not haughty experience. Friendly staff is eager to please. You won’t regret booking a room here!

I stayed at The Parco dei Principe hotel with my Fiance for a week as a holiday to celebrate his retirement and our first trip to Rome. I had booked through LastMinute.com a Cuppola or Dome room which I had paid a premium for. These rooms are located at the back of the hotel, on a high floor and next to the park. They have a view of Rome and The Basillica of St Peter-The Dome. We arrived at 9pm and were shown to room 204 on the 2nd floor above the main entrance. The room was fine, very nice actually but was not the room I was expecting and not what I had paid for. I asked the man at reception and was told that I had not booked a Dome room, even though I had the paperwork to prove it, which he would not look at. As we had a dinner reservation and I did not want to spend our first night in Rome arguing, I decided to leave it and not let the disappointment spoil the night. I asked again the next day and also the 3rd day but each time was fobbed of. When we returned home I contacted LastMinute.com who were very apologetic and confirmed that I had indeed booked the Dome Room and the hotel should have honoured this booking. They have been trying to get me a partial refund from the hotel but so far it has been 6 weeks and they are still waiting for a response. The hotel is beautiful and has a fantastic pool, great for relaxing but it is located on the outskirts of Rome, a good 45 minute walk to the centre, so not ideal for sightseeing. The food and drinks are super expensive so if you stay bring your own travel kettle as this is not provided in the room and costs about £20 to order on room service. There is a great restaurant 2 minutes away called Fiore del Zucca which I would highly recommend. Also don't pay for a room upgrade as you may only get a basic room. I just have the distinct feeling I have been ripped off by them so I would not recommend.

Wonderful hotel, great restoraunt, great service, comfort rooms. I’d like to come back in this place, which gave me and my family unforgettable memories. Also, i wanted to mention waiter Gabriella separatly, she was very attentive, kind, reacted quickly, as expected and worked hard. That was magnificent days, we spent here, so i can advice everyone to stay in this hotel.
