Harefield Manor Hotel

We turned up today for a booking we made in October 2023 for a friends wedding in Romford to be told that “the local council have block booked it and it is no longer operating as a hotel”. The owners have not had the decency to contact us prior to us turning up today to cancel our booking leaving us stranded and looking for a last minute alternative hotel.

Booked this hotel for weekend as attending family event. £150 for 2 nights. Weeks before we’re contacted by hotel to say they had contractors working on roof and we needed to cancel our superior double room as we would be disturbed by the work going on all day. Having cancelled our room was surprised to see that the e hotel was still advertising a superior double room, for the weekend that we wanted for £500 for 2 nights. Having visited Romford for our family event, we had cause to pass the hotel several times over the weekend. There was no evidence of any work being done to the roof of the annex nor was there any contractors vehicles in evidence. It seems that getting a good rate through booking . Com means nothing as the hotel will just cancel if they feel that they can get more money through their own website

I stayed here and all I can say that I was shocked.This "hotel" is the worst I've stayed so far, the reception gave me keys that didn't work, tv not working, stains on the carpet, lamp broken, cobwebs in the bathroom, shower head full of limescale,no mirror in the bathroom,grouting between tiles missing, ironing board ripped, stains on the walls, no phones in the room...horrible horrible! I didn't have where to go, so I complained at reception but nothing was done, they look at like you telling them things from other planet...when I asked I want to speak to the manager, the poor receptionist( she looked so lost in the space as well) that the manager is working from home and she cannot give me the number or email!! So Im posting here the photos and let people judge if Im wrong... for 2024 NOT TO HAVE MIRROR IN THE BATHROOM, I DONT THINK I ASK TOO MUCH! the manager is sleeping at home and people are paying his salary and we have to stay in this conditions!IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW ABOUT ALL THIS PROBLEMS, I would have booked somewhere else!! Now the damage is done and I had to stay there even though was for a night ai would never recommend it to my worst enemy to stay there!! After I left the hotel in the morning, when I got home I took a very long shower as I was afraid I might gave gotten something from them... NEVER IN MY LIFE! If you care about your health, money and dignity book somewhere else!!

Booked through their website. Called TWICE to try and pay to confirm booking. Was told to pay on arrival. Arrived to check in and was told the booking had been cancelled. They did have a room but wanted us to pay an extra £125. Staff were not helpful at all. We were attending a wedding and was left with no accommodation. We explained that we had called twice to try to pay and they would not accept!!!

Enjoyable stay, hotel not far from the town centre, railway station close by, room small and compact, nice and warm, staff friendly and pleasant, breakfast was buffet style, normal stuff, bacon , sausage etc, plus cereal and yoghurts, fruit juices. The only thing, was that the shower In our room didn't work properly Apart from that,everything was very good. Would we stay again, yes we would .

I will start the the good points, the bed in room 212 was very comfortable. Room - terrible, door been smashed in at some point, needs decorating, draughty noisy windows, ripped wallpaper bathroom was very good though! Unless you want breakfast at 630am you’ll be lucky to find any thing on the cooked breakfast enjoyable! I went at 830 the fried egg was like rubber, the bacon could have soled my shoes, beans were vile,mushrooms dried up. I had toast and a yoghurt! The hotel is very disjointed looks in parts like it’s been painted then other parts is yellow wood chip. The outside looks so impressive but I wouldn’t stay again £75 B and B for a treat when visiting my friend not much of a treat.
