Residence Inn by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo

Big room. Has full kitchen amenities and dining ware on hand. In need of sprucing up and update, hopefully soon. Have to request for extra toilettries as only one set was provided for multi-guests stay. Bedsheet slightly old and torn. Has coin-operated laundry facility on-site. Parking is free and breakfast is provided. Just stayed for 2 nights and room did not housekeeping so not sure if service is provided on daily basis. Location has a lot of shopping options nearby.

The one bright light in this place is Vi, the lady who greets you at breakfast, clears your plates, and puts out the food. Total sweetheart, very cheerful and helpful. She even made me plain eggs because I was allergic to stuff in the fritata. Other than that: the heat didn't work in the room. We called maintenance and they couldn't get it to work either. I ended up leaving the oven on all night for heat. Someone either broke or stole the coffee carafe needed to make coffee. It was not replaced. I called the front desk and they didn't have any. The sign in the bathroom says if you want your towels replaced throw them on the floor. We did. We left our room at 10am and returned at 11pm and the room had never been cleaned -- dirty towels on the floor and no clean ones, garbage not emptied, bed not made. We had to go to the front desk for towels and they told us they don't clean the rooms anymore unless we request it. How would we know this? The only sign in the room says to throw your towels on the floor. The couch was up against the same wall where the tv was. The couch is too heavy to move and the tv doesn't swivel enough to watch it. There was one chair in the room which meant hubby and I had to take turns sitting, so we skipped watching any programs. The carpet was sticky like they used too much soap to wash it and didn't rinse it. The hotel hasn't been updated since the 1970s. The bathroom sink is actually in the bedroom so if you want to get up early and get ready then hubby gets woken up by the light shining in his face. The weatherstripping left a large gap under the door so light and breezes come into the room. The pool is out of service. There is no elevator on the property to access the second floor units. There are no luggage carts on the property. There's a homeless camp less than 1,000 feet from the property. I had previously stayed at a Residence Inn years ago in North Carolina, so that's why I booked this place. Residence Inn has done the deep dive into property neglect. I will never stay at another Residence Inn again.

Stayed here one night with my wife. They charged my card for two nights. Contacted the manager several times. Here we are one month later and they still haven't refunded my money. Would not advise anyone to stay here unless you like getting screwed.
