Great place for stay especially for those who want to stay in the jungle & enjoy the nature. Ambience- Great, thoughtful & peaceful place. Only thing, it is too far after entering village. Apart from that it's perfect in terms of rooms, dining area. Rooms- we opted for a suite. Ample amount of space. You get big entrance, common hall, bedroom, dressing room & washroom. Though we booked suite there were 2 single beds instead of one double bed.. Note- commode was old & had stains over seat. Napkin hanger was broken. Toiletries provided - shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, soap & shower cap. Dental kit provided after we asked. Food- Main reason for giving 4 star rating. Limited spread of buffet, you get only single choice of soup & dessert. Most of the time there were no starters. They have their own farming. So many fruits & vegetables were freshly served. But taste was very bland. Most of the time you would get cauliflower, red spinach & bottle guard soup. It's good to have healthy food, but one might not expect on vacation. Service - great. They would even serve hot towel & snacks whenever one come from safari. No food provided in afternoon safari.

Large rooms, fan heater very welcome as mornings and evenings it was very cold. Warm during the day but we were surprised how cold it was on the safaris. Take several layers and gloves and a woolly hat! Curry every day for lunch and dinner. All food pretty good, but starting to fantasise about English food after a week in India! Game drives in Kanha very good, saw a few Tigers. Bungalow type accommodation with outsseating area. Toiletries in room, hairdryer, coffee and tea. Nice modern bathroom. The dining area was always freezing as they insisted on leaving the restaurant doors wide open, so take warm evening clothes if travelling in Winter; (we were there in November). Drinks reasonably priced and wine drinkable.

Chitvan is very close to Kanha Park, if you plan to visit Kanha National Park. We did plan to visit Kanha on two consecutive days early morning and so decided to stay at Chitvan. Little off the main road by couple of kilometers , the place is nested in a mini forest of its own. There is so much green around with fruits yielding plants included. The rooms are done in blocks until 1st floor only and you have such multiple blocks in the closed campus, located at good distance for privacy. The restaurant has excellent huge seating area and good space to sit for long leisure time for family to spend. Swimming pool is added attraction. Chitvan Lodge provides ample blankets and good breakfast packing for guests leaving for Kanha trip in early morning. Courteous staff and good limited buffet range, but tasty preparation. Rooms are excellent size with good lighting for evening. Little challenge is with bugs and ants in toilets and also seen in rooms , as the entire Chitvan campus is having good plantation all around. Overall it was a good hospitality , good food . and above all we were lucky to spot tigers in very close sight in our Kanha morning trip so all well !!!

Had a lovely three nights here. My room was on the edge of the property, so very quiet and had a nice sitting area outside my door looking onto neighbouring land. Swimming pool was a good size and lovely to use after a dusty game drive. Staff were very friendly and food was great. Grounds were lovely and it has a lovely vegetable garden to wander around in. This was my second stay here, and standards are as good as nine years ago when I last visited.

We spent 3 nights here in order to visit Kanha reserve where we had 2 full days of safari. The accommodation was comfortable but what really made our stay was the staff who were great. The food was plentiful and there were lots of fresh vegetables. The packed breakfast for safari was always very good. Drinks were very reasonable. We had a great tiger experience on our last game drive and our driver worked hard to try and ensure we saw lots of wildlife. We had a problem with the air-con on our final night and we’re pleasantly surprised to be given the keys for another room should we need it as they thought they had sorted the problem but weren’t 100%. In the end it was fine though - just an example of a lodge committed to providing the best customer experience possible.
