Hôtel Île de Lumière

Great little hotel which does exactly what it says and does that’s very well. Nestle by the sea and only a short walk from town it could not be better located. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is fresh and plenty of it. In short it was a pleasure!!

Stayed for three nights and wish it was longer. Fabulous stay with a brilliant pool and next to the beach. Able to walk into the town where there are many restaurants. Would recommend La Sardinerie restaurant. Weather was wonderful which helped!

Very well located directly at the beach in La Cotinière at the Île d’Oleron. Perfect for relaxing at the coast. We had a sea-view room from which we could see the sunset. Amazing breakfast! Very friendly team. Highly recommendable, hopefully back soon!

Nice and quiet “motel” (every room has an own entrance) with beautiful surroundings. Pretty easy walk to the fishing harbour and the restaurants there. I recommend to book a room with sea view. As the room has its own outdoor seating, you can sit outside your own room and enjoy the amazing view of the ocean (and you can buy also beverages from the reception). The room was styled in accordance of the surrounding area. There is no ac and as the heating was on, I had to sleep with my window open, but then again I like to sleep in a very cold room. If you don’t arrive by car or bicycle , getting here is a bit tricky, but you can take a bus to Saint-Pierre-d’Oleron and then a taxi from there.

Fabulous location, fabulous accommodation and a very reasonable price. We had no dislikes😊

The location of this hotel is simply beautiful. We had a seafront room with a view across the dunes and Atlantic Ocean. The rooms are well equipped and very clean. Service was excellent: breakfast was provided on our porch.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans une chambre avec vue sur l'océan. Une personne très souriante nous a accueillis et nous a donnés toutes les explications nécessaires pour passer un bon séjour (sauna non mentionné). Notre chambre donnait sur une vaste esplanade bien entretenue (bravo les jardiniers) avec vue sur un morceau d'océan (pas de zone de baignade). La chambre était avec une décoration simple mais de très bon gout, bonne literie, réfrigérateur et coffre. Une petite terrasse devant la chambre permettant de se relaxer devant la nature. Petit déjeuner copieux, beaucoup de diversité et produits de qualité. Piscine en contrebas agréable partiellement abritée du vent. Parking assez grand mais déjà plein le soir (cela doit être une difficulté en pleine saison) Une bonne adresse pas très loin de la Cotiniere avec tout ce qu'il faut pour passer un bon moment.
