Sea Symphony Villa

My wife and I separately landed on the ad for SeaSymphony while researching places to stay for our second week in Barbados. We were a bit worried it was too good to be true. It turned out to be So Good and Definitely True! The villa is located in the Checker Hall region in St Lucy on Northwest coast of Barbados. It was beautiful and pretty quiet and exactly what we needed after a fairly loud but fun week in St Lawrence Gap. It took a couple of days to get adjusted really, and we were stunned at the amount of house we had just for us two. We were toured around the house by Dorious cleaner and laundress extraordinaire and the proprietor Dr. Dorothy Roberts. We then met the masterful Chef Lindrey who welcomed us with fresh Bajan fishcakes that were the perfect antidote from a bumpy and warm hourlong taxi journey. I could go on for hours, so let me try to summarize. For negatives or potential negatives, the bed in the room we selected was a little firm and the pillows weren't the best (we pilfered extra pillows from unused rooms with permission) but this is very minor - we slept soundly. The location is pretty remote so if you're looking for lively, this might not be for you. If you're looking for a flop and drop to just chill and relax and unwind, this IS your spot. This is perfect if you're renting a car. If you don't have a car, Taxis ( cheers, Chris!) and the local bus service are available. $3.50 gets you to Holetown (1 way, per person) on the yellow or blue busses which run frequently. You can get to Speightstown, Holetown, or Bridgetown and beyond easily enough. The beach that's straight down from the villa is pretty small and the surf seemed quite rough most of the time, but there's meant to be good snorkelling down there - but you'd want to be an able swimmer. I think there's a beach kind of around the corner to the south, but we didn't go there and I don't know if there's any services. There is a lot of beach kit available at the villa, particularly for kiddies. The beach/pool towels at the villa are the nicest ones I've ever experienced. With a little exploration, you should be able to find the right spot. The villa and the pool speak for themselves but the real value add are Chef Lindrey and Dorious. Dorious keeps the villa squeaky clean, spotless! AND she does your laundry. We rolled in with a weeks worth of dirty laundry and she handled it like a champ, and stocked the wardrobe better than a retail shop when the laundry was done. This is such a huge benefit as we went through a lot of clothes in the heat, and typical hotel laundry is $$$$$. Chef Lindrey is delightful and interesting to chat to as well as having the experience of having prepared food in hotels, cruise ships, and restaurants for 50 years. Every meal was a delight. Fish, Beef, Chicken, Pork, Veg - he does it all to perfection! As mentioned previously, his potatoes dauphinois are simply off the hook good. Ok so much for summarizing! Just spent 2 fantastic weeks at the villa looked after by Lindrey the chef and Amber the housekeeper. The villa is is undoubtedly amazing. Lindrey is a very skilled chef, his dauphinois potatoes are simply the best! We were a little worried about how the trip would work with a chef as we like to eat out a lot, but it was easy just to plan a couple of days in advance as to when we needed Lindrey. We have scored the property 4/5, if the property had been within walking distance of a few bars we would have scored 5/5. Enjoyed watching the monkeys which live around the villa. We can highly recommend Calma Beach Club in Holetown to swim with turtles. Bajan people are simply the best, from waving at us every morning to coming out their houses to help us when we take wrong turns!! Had a fantastic trip we will definitely be back.

We were a group of 5 couples who spent 5 days at Sea Symphony and our only regret is that it wasn't longer! We felt so pampered by Dorothy, Lindrey, and Amber. The villa is beautiful, even more so than the photos show. The rooms are spacious and lovely and our group spent a lot of time sitting upstairs on the porch/veranda overlooking the pool and the ocean. At night, we spread out while some people played games and others read or talked. It was truly relaxing! We even had our own kitchen on the upper floor where we had snacks and drinks. We had sent an initial grocery list and everything was waiting for us. Lindrey was an amazing cook who listened to our thoughts on food and did an excellent job with both breakfasts and dinners. We loved trying some of the local dishes while he regaled us with great stories. Amber kept everything clean and even did laundry for us when we needed it. Dorothy was wonderful to work with and even allowed us to roll over our visit from 2022 to 2023 without losing our deposit. In addition, when one of the air conditioners in a bedroom stopped working, they replaced it right away and suggested that the couple in that room sleep in the 6th bedroom while it wasn't working. So kind and considerate! The pool was a delight and we spent a lot of time there. The beach at the ocean was very small but we were still able to use it and enjoy the beautiful ocean temperature. Additionally, the complementary pick up and drop off at the airport was very much appreciated. All in all, it was a wonderful, relaxing trip and I would love to return someday! Had an amazing stay at Sea Symphony Villa. The chef was AMAZING and everything about the house was wonderful. So many bedrooms and bathrooms. Only a 30 second walk to the beach. Overall perfect experience.

We were a group of 8 friends looking for a local get-away where we could all relax and unwind. Finding an affordable 4-5 bedroom place near the beach was a proving to be a challenge Jackpot! As a local, I had never heard of Sea Symphony or the nearby beach, Fryer's Well Bay. Now I have and would highly recommend both! Communication from the proprietor, Dorothy, was immediate and efficient after I placed my booking. She gave me the lay of the land and put me in touch with the Chef to plan the menu for our stay Chef Lindrey has over 50 years in the business and can COOK! We agreed the menus for our meals well in advance, including the arrival meal, which was welcome after a hard day's work Housekeeper Beatrice greeted us with cold towels as she took our temps and signed us in for our stay. Each room was neatly made up, the towels and beds adorned with flowers. She settled us in and left us to our own devices for our first evening. She was back the next day first thing in the morning to clean up and make the beds, even washing and drying our beach clothes and towels on a daily basis While the rooms are starting to show their age, it is an impressive local establishment, adjacent to one of the most beautiful beaches that I have seen in Barbados. Every time I walked the 90 yards to the beach I would marvel at the colours I highly recommend Sea Symphony Villa to anyone looking to get away from it all. Great for couples, groups or families. We will be back, for sure!
