Les Colonnes

This charming hotel has been in the family for more than 100 years and its pedigree shows in the friendly staff and the clean and comfortable rooms. Our room overlooked the harbour, with its numerous restaurants and bars. Les Colonnes has its own bistro, serving mostly galettes during the day, along with coffee and drinks. An excellent traditional French breakfast was also served there: fresh crunchy bread and jam, croissants, coffee. Breakfast was, unsurprisingly, popular with locals. We would definitely go back there.

We didn’t stay in the hotel but had breakfast every morning in the cafe & dropped in for early drinks each evening during our stay in Saint Martin . Have eaten there twice - food excellent breakfast with fresh orange juice bread & croissants, evening food consistently good. Great location to watch the world go by but the best thing of all are the wonderful people who run this establishment friendly efficient & very welcoming - special to thanks Caroline for putting up with my poor French !! Dropped in here for one night and so glad we did. Interesting to read some of the awful reviews. The food is good, the terrace a great place to eat. Our room was ‘compact’ but absolutely fine and the cost was surprisingly good. We know staff can make a difference. We obviously got lucky. Warm welcome when we checked in and table service was quick and friendly. It was busy in the evening and the stressed young man tried to do ‘ze French waiter who hates everyone’ but failed miserably and managed to summon a smile!

This establishment has been in the family for over 100 years! We found this place online on our second visit to the island and would never stay anywhere else. The location is probably the best in town, we get a room with a harbor view. It's a good idea to get rental bikes first thing for your stay, they have a secret bike parking for you here. We almost feel like Sophie, her mom, and sister are like family and have always had excellent service here. The room is always clean and well maintained. We enjoy breakfast on the patio and had several excellent dinners here too. I can't recommend this place enough. They have a good elevator for access to the upper floors for those who have mobility issues.

Exceptional service at this perfect hotel in the centre of beautiful St Martin. We were looking for a home from home where we could sit and read and watch the world go by, and this was beyond our expectations. It’s ALL about service here; Sophie and her sisters showed what hospitality is all about - that they enjoy it as much as we do. A genuine find in a robotised world.

Four of us stayed here for 2 nights (town and harbour views) - the location is first class, directly on the quayside. We had a town view with balcony (slightly cheaper). The room & bathroom were of a good size and extremely clean. The town side of the hotel is also the quieter side. If you have a car then it is a good idea to reserve a space and pay the €15 per day for the parking. Before arrival ask the hotel for the code to access the harbour area, park outside the hotel, unload and then move your car to their secure parking a few minutes walk away. Breakfast was a pretty standard continental but it wasn't expensive and it was very pleasant sitting on the terrace at the front of the hotel. The staff were very friendly. We didn't have an evening meal preferring to eat at the nearby restaurants. We would be quite happy to return here again.
