The stunning beauty of the hotel itself, the quiet,friendly ambience, food to die for and what can I say about the staff?--,Donald, Adam, Sarah and all are the most caring, friendly and efficient staff I have ever encountered in my long history of staying in great hotels. Food--cordon bleau, room service-instant, gardens-immaculate--and what can I say about Ivor??-AMAZING.. You will never find a better hotel. Congratulations to Bill Costly, a charming perfect gentleman who owns this charming perfect hotel.

Market menu lunch at Lochgreen sets a very high standard of hospitality and culinary skill. The environment of this hotel and restaurant sets the scene. Manicured lawns, tidy garden borders and an impressive building. Everything is well maintained, spotless and creates the lasting impression of what a 5 star hotel should look like. Inside, the dining room staff were universally helpful and created an enthusiasm that they were pleased to have your custom, even for a brief lunch visit. The market menu provided an interesting and adequate choice of dishes. The tables were set in the elegant dining room and created a sense of special location for a mid-week lunch. The food and service that followed further supported a five star experience. In a time where many restaurants lower food quality and increase prices, this Costley experience counters with high quality food, perfectly cooked and presented. Cost and quality here are managed successfully. Diners are very well satisfied. It is a pleasure to recommend this restaurant. Congratulations and thanks to the staff for this level of hospitality.

First class hotel from the minute we booked it to the day we left. The room was huge, every staff member was great. The food was excellent. It's great to have a breakfast freshly cooked, well done please do not change it. To all the staff members thank you for a great break.

Immaculate hotel and surrounding gardens, the food was phenomenal, greeted on reception with the warmest welcome. Dinner in Bisque was perhaps the best we’ve had in 10 years. The food was delicious, cooked to a high standard and we’re told sourced locally as possible. I’d be missing a trick if I didn’t mention our young waitress, Geo, who took her time to recognise our occasion, talk us through the menu- even helped us pick wine to compliment our meals… attentive, charming, professional. Excellent show Lochgreen, planning our next trip already!!!

First class! Lovely informal welcome when we arrived, and same cosy informality when we left, making us feel really special. Lovely decor. Nice grounds. Huge yet cosy room, super-comfortable. Food was excellent, and other highly rated hotels could learn a thing or two about quality service from the team here. Can’t fault it, wouldn’t want to!

First of all I cannot fault the staff or the location as both were excellent as usual. We attended the Lochgreen House Hotel for lunch on Friday 14/2. I chose the Monkfish and prawn curry and my wife had escalope of pork. The curry had three inch sized pieces of monkfish and three prawns in a very small plate of a curry sauce,with a small bowl of rice. Disappointed is an understatement. The escalope of pork was a roll of pork and also unappealing.. I have stated at the beginning the location etc was excellent which is why I have written the review. The Lochgreen is usually so much better than what we were served ,having been there just before Christmas and it was excellent in every way,personally I think some one is tinkering to much with the menu .
