Arenal Rustic Lodge

Highly recommended!!!. We had a fantastic time at Arenal rustic lodge. A lovely family run business with fantastic lodges. We had such a warm welcome by Juvenal and family. The breakfast was delicious and the tour recommendations were spot on. A night walk to see the wildlife in the dark is available on the premises. These are hard working, ambitious and warm people who will try to make your stay as perfect as possible. Laundry service is available and it was very welcomed to have clean dry clothes after 10 days of travelling in a humid climate. The treehouse lodge we had booked originally was amazing but the smallest and so we asked if we could have a bigger one. They moved us into one of their biggest without even charging us extra the next day. And that speaks louder than words. You can't go wrong booking a lodge there and if we get a chance to go back to la Fortuna we'll book there again in a heartbeat. Another plus for future guests is that they are building a beautiful restaurant at the moment Pura Vida

We were absolutely delighted to find this little gem! We wanted something tree house like and these lovely wooden bungalows tucked into the edge of the rainforest certainly delivered. We sat and watched hummingbirds from our balcony along with countless other beautiful birds and lizards. We took an evening tour, walking straight from our front door into the rainforest and saw sloths, including a mum and young baby!!!! Our guide was full of facts about the local plants and animals and there is no way we would have spotted the sloths without his help. A simple Costa Rican breakfast was included and the staff/family were all welcoming and helpful. The room itself was basic but included a bathroom and fridge. If I had to make any criticism it would be that they started with the chainsaws pretty early in the morning as they are in the process of building a beautiful new dining area but it by no means tainted our experience. If you are looking for a true Costa Rica experience, rather than a large resort type hotel, then this is the place for you!!

What a fun stay in the jungle! Saw lots of hummingbirds, frogs, lizards. It felt good to support a family owned business, you can really tell they love to help and give the best experience. They’re up and coming but awesome cabins. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect amount every morning with fresh coffee. It is a bit of a distance from downtown La Fortuna but the Uber was like $4. Shower was great and spacious. AC worked great and we slept very comfortably. We did a night tour there and they even helped us with a great price with other excursions. Over fun jungle stay!

This property was amazing once we found it. It is very hard to find as it is in a neighborhood behind houses, but don't let that discourage you. Im telling you how to get there so you can experience the magic. There is a small grass driveway between houses that leads into the jungle. There is a small wooden sign about knee height that marks the entrance on the right side of the driveway. We spent the night in a gorgeous treehouse with all the modern amentities and a great bed. The sounds of the jungle surrounded you with frogs, flowers, wildlife and rain and so much more. The staff were extremely accomodating and friendly they even come out to the street to help us find the place. Please note that the phone number on ******* for them is wrong, their real phone number can be found on google if you look up the property name. I hope you enjoy this place as much as we did.

We were able to view monkeys right from the deck . Best pasta Bolognese ever !!! They only offered dinner on the weekends when we stayed there Excellent Italian chef

A little gem close to the center of La Fortuna, but not too close. We had a superb, authentic experience in the rainforest in a new and very comfortable little cabin. We slept so well with the birdsong at night, and discovered some big turrico birds in the morning. The host Jubinal is incredibly kind, and he and his wife served us an excellent breakfast with fresh fruit, corn tortillas, and toast, and eggs. I would recommend this place to friends. The small bungalow is quite small, but there’s a lovely balcony & very comfortable bed. The place is super clean and there is excellent water and coffee available in the room, too.

The cabins are perfect getaway from the day to day grind, and the family is amazing. Breakfast was delicious and perfect for fueling up for a long day of adventures. We stayed for three nights and the experience was excellent all around. From our balcony we spotted hummingbirds, sloths, tucans, squirrels, lightning bugs, and all kinds of other animals. What a beautiful place with excellent service. Breakfast was excellent too! The gallo pinto and eggs was always delicious. In addition to the great accommodations, Juvenal and his family had great recommendations for adventures. 5/5 would stay here again.

Beautiful cabin. Very clean. Has AC. Awesome view of the jungle. The only reason why i gave it a 4 star is because of the bedding. The bed was not very comfortable. The pillows and sheets were hard. The bed also only had a thin blanket as a cover. You need to bring your own shampoo and conditioner.

Very good experience…bungalow cleaned and staff muy muy gentil….location completely full to the nature …amazing ! Private parking. Only some note…are necessary maybe some carry clothes and at least some chairs…
