Great location in the centre of Santander. Clean and tidy rooms. Decent shower. Excellent black out blinds and air conditioning that is virtually silent. We didn’t sample the breakfast so can’t comment on that. Everything else was spot on.

Hotel is in a great location right beside the Food Hall, Mercado Del Este, and its decoration is nice. The rooms were nice and a nice size with big window balcony. Large Beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom had a strong smell of sewage though but it was only in our room as far as II know. Reception staff were very efficeint and friendly. The breakfast was not great and when something ran out the replacement would not arrive for a long time It was also hard to find the staff as well. There was a reasonable selection but again it wasnt available each morning. I would stay here again and have breakfast outside the Hotel.

The reception staff are great, friendly and efficient. The communal spaces are tired and need decorating or at least a deep clean. Our room was lovely and big and relatively newly renovated, again attention to detail on repairs/deep cleaning is needed. Great location.

Friendly staff Vert friendly staff, helt with differens things and breakfast was very nice. Will stay there next time I am in Santander again.

As I wrote on another website: We had a wonderful check-in with the young female on reception particularly when she found out that we had just completed the Portuguese Camino, we were talking to a fellow pilgrim, and whenever she saw in the hotel. What a delightful surprise I got when we entered our spacious and elegant corner room on the second floor with an enclosed balcony and plenty of fresh air and natural light. We loved the comfortable king bed with loads of pillows, and nightly chocolate on the bed, tea/coffee facility, enomorous bathroom with fluffy towels and bath robes. Breakfast was included in our tarrif, a generous buffet was served with a great variety of foods. The dining room was a pleasant place to start our days off in Santander. Positives: Own air-conditioning unit, spacious room, friendly staff. Negatives: No decent lighting over the bathroom vanity mirror and only espresso cups for coffee, no cups for tea drinkers (supplied when requested). Music playing in the corridors 24 hours a day could be heard inside our room.

I have traveled for business and pleasure most of my life and I have stayed in the best hotels around the world. But when I think of a bad hotel experience I will always remember hotel Soho Palacio Real. From beginning to end all was mediocre. First, if you are not very familiar with the area, you have no idea where to park your car, and the streets are very narrow. Then, if you are up in age and not very athletic, you will have to carry all your bags to the hotel, as they do not have a porter (this hotel is a 4 start). As it was our wedding anniversary, they gave us an update to a junior suite. Well, I don’t want to see a regular room. This junior suite did not have enough space for the 2 of us plus our bags. The breakfast was at best run of the mill, very mediocre for a 4 start hotel. The service there was all quite poor. There were several tables empty, but dirty. To top it all, we had a medical issue and needed to leave the following day instead of the 2 days programmed and paid in advance. Needless to say, they refused to credit us for the night we were not going to spend there. If I ever go back to Santander, I know FOR SURE where not to stay
