Akrotiri Hotel

Very slow service and when staff were asked they were extremely rude so much to the point that we felt we had to leave and go somewhere else. We would not return here if you begged us to go back as it was such an awful experience.

Best in Akrotiri! Amazing place with amazing views. The place is cozy and very beautiful at night as you watch the moon, the sea and the infinity of Santorini. It’s a family business as it’s managed by Mathios and his staff. Even though by mistake I thought my checking was on Sunday and not Saturday, Mathios was very very understandable and gave us the enough time to get ourself together and package our luggage. He even offered a place to shower if needed. This is the kind of attention and kindness that a tourist needs when in holidays. Mathios and his son are VERY VERY polite and cheerful. I have no words to describe how kind and respectful the two were. I highly recommend Mathios to attend you. Only thing I would wish is the lady in reception and at time at checkout would have been a little more nice or friendly, perhaps she had a bad week. I am definitely coming back to Santorini and definitely I’m staying again in this amazing place managed by Mathios. Thank you very very much for your kindness. BONUS: they are pet friendly with the local dogs, they come and say hi, Mathios leaves food and water for them. One of them payed a visit to us and it was unbelievable moment.

Absolute hidden gem, the location is stunning, with plentiful sun beds (we always had one due to the hotel checking to make sure those using them were hotel guests) right on the ocean. The hotel bar is a great vibe with many other good restaurants dotted along the coast. There are lots of nice nooks to sit and chill in at the hotel, the hotel itself is right next to a bus stop (careful the busses are not usually on time in santorini but you can just have a drink in the bar and wait until your bus comes) and a short walk to the red beach. Walking distance to akrotiri where there are nice little shops and more restaurants. We actually ended up coming back here for the day once we had moved on due to how much we loved the area. The bedrooms are basic but when the area itself is that nice it doesn't matter. The breakfast is lovely and chilled out in the mornings.

Stayed here for 3 days at the start of an Island hop with friends. Wanted to visit the archaeological site which was just up the road and ideally located. The hotel organised an airport transfer which went very smoothly. Our room was fantastic, well appointed and a fantastic view from the little terrace out to sea. Bus runs from outside into Fira. Several tavernas nearby and the Hotel’s own bar was excellent. Would recommend as out of the hustle and bustle of Oia and Fira, unless you want to be crushed by the hoards offloading from cruise ships😎

Beautiful and Comfortable room, with outside balcony and perfect view on the Beach side! Every day you get the room clean at very excellence! The Hotel is very well connected even if you don't have a car, as you can take a bus 2 minutes from the hotel into Chania City Center! Lena is the most welcoming hotel owner and she can provide also with all the extra information needed to move around. I have been there a few days ago and just come back, and during these days I had to deal with a few flights issues and Lena and her husband also helped me with that! Breakfast is sweet and you meet nice and lively people at the Hotel! I can't wait to be back there and next time to stay for longer! Highly recommended!

It has 5 STAR gorgeous 180˚sea & boat views everywhere: from your room w private deck and seating arrangement, from the breakfast area, from other decks or the pretty lounge with cafe. The hotel has a lovely contemporary decor, and is beautiful inside and out. (Ignore photos from 5 years ago, before the design makeover). As a guest, you can enjoy its private beach w free loungers and straw umbrellas, directly accessible from the property, with a rock formation in the sea that breaks waves and makes it super easy to get into the water. The sea here is super clear & clean (you can see little fish swim as you move a bit further from the shore). The sea is not deep for quite a stretch. Go a bit beyond the private beach area and walk all along the beautiful coast line over a path along the seaside. Or walk the other way and you'll find excellent restaurants (i.e. Nicolas' Cave ao) plus a jetty from which you can go to the Red Beach, White Beach and Black beach. This beachfront property is located literally right next to the world-famous ancient excavation site of Akrotiri (nearly 4,000 year old) on the other side. Yes, it could not be better situated for having 'the real good stuff to do' nearby, but not be in the hyper touristy zone of Fira. Although Fira is just 20-25 min away by air-co bus which stops in front of the door, .. for 2 euro. This hotel also offers full concierge services: they can arrange kayak rental (next door); car, ATV or scooter rentals or airport drop-off/pickup. They booked us a prime table at Nicolas and we enjoyed free cake and wine (vivino 4.0) with our meal. Excellent breakfast that was served: a huge selection and all freshly home-made: cakes, sweets, eggs, pancakes, o/j, and many other choices-- again freely included. Also free Illy coffee maker w supply in your room! In addition, maid service was daily with fresh towels, made bed and a total clean. Everyone of the staff is professional and super friendly. We have stayed in other top 5 star hotel/resorts. This was as amazingly beautiful and luxurious, but more personal and for a fraction of the price! Consider yourself very lucky indeed if you manage to find a room here.

Great location with private beach access, close to beach front restaurants and Akrotiri archaeological site

If what you want is a cool breeze, calm background music, beautiful view of the sea, somewhere you can stroll down and dip your toe in a warm sea and cocktails for €8 or a delicious smoothie!? Take a bus from crowded Thira/ Fira the capital and sit in the comfort of the cafe and relax. The food is amazing, served by calm people. The cafe is attached to a hotel. However you don’t have to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy this cafe. Don’t worry if Prehistoric Towns aren’t your thing. However there is an extraordinary one here, five minutes from this wonderful cafe/ restaurant. Beautifully redesigned this year they are open for breakfast, lunch and supper.

Nice hotel away from the chaos of Fira and Oia. Clean, safe and good restaurants. Only issues is there is nothing around it, but there is bus service into town every 30 minutes
