The Alexander - Seaside Hideaway

The personal touch of the hosts that they bent backwards for us and took care of every needs of ours during our stay. Sarah and Jim are absolutely wonderful hosts and good cooks to boot. The room they provided us was spacious as well as neat and clean. Toiletries and tea-coffee making facilities were well provided. Location of the hotel is perfect too with all North bay attractions at close proximity and South bay could be reached in 5 minutes through public/private transport. We had wonderful time during our stay and would prefer to stay again if and when we visit Scarborough in future.

What a perfect little gem of a hotel. Just a 3 minute walk from the open air theatre where we seeing a show but out of the hustle and bustle of Scarborough main town, Sarah and Jim are perfect hosts, we were greeted with tea and biscuits on arrival. We had a large spacious king size room at the front of the hotel but even though we left our window open at night there was very little street noise. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was a lovely en suite with nice white towels and Temple Spa toiletries. The amenity tray had a good selection of teas and coffees along with hot chocolate and biscuits. Breakfast was very good quality and well cooked along with the usual cereals, fruit, yoghurt and pastries. Sarah’s home made banana and walnut bread was delicious. This hotel is definitely one to visit again and deserves a 5 star review. Jim and Sarah make it a home from home and I would highly recommend a stay there.

This place is really a seaside gem! We were in bedroom 3 which was so big, it felt like a suite. The super king bed was super comfy and with Temple Spa toiletries in the en-suite, I felt like I was in a spa. Sarah and Jim are such great hosts and looked after us from the moment we arrived to the point we sadly had to check out. We were so impressed with their breakfast, both cooked breakfast and the yoghurt with homemade granola and compote. It was all delicious and hard to resist. We stayed in for a meal one evening and sat outside on the terrace with drinks before enjoying their amazing freshly cooked, home made tomato garlic bread and pizzas all prepared in-house and cooked in the wood fired pizza oven. This is no ordinary hotel, this is unique and gives a personal touch. Next time we will be sure to book in when one of the fab acts are on at the Open Air Theatre, its a 2 min walk away! Superb

Gorgeous little hotel, perfect position for the open air theatre, Sarah and Jim extremely friendly, nothing was to much trouble, food excellent, well stocked bar, spotlessly clean, will definitely be visiting again, if you like small and friendly this is the hotel for you

Thanks to Sarah and Jim for a lovely relaxing weekend at the Seaside Hideaway.. Ideal location for the open air theatre, only 3 mins walk away. Easy walk to Peasholm Park and the North Bay, lots to do and see in the area. Would highly recommend.

We travelled from Belfast for a concert in the Open Air Theatre and are delighted we chose to stay here. Our arrival was delayed and the owners were very accommodating of a later check-in, and were there to greet us with a smile when we arrived. The breakfast was amazing, and the concert venue is just across the road so it was absolutely perfect. Sarah and Jim had the pizza oven going before the concert so we were able to have pizza and a pint before the very short walk to the concert, which was just lovely and the pizza was amazing! Our room was one of the smaller rooms but it was spotless and had everything we needed. The bed was really comfy. Having the bar open in the evenings was great for a drink and a chat at the end of the night. Sarah and Jim could not have been any more friendly, really super hosts! Thanks for a lovely weekend

This was our third stay but first with Sarah and Jim as the new hosts. We were on a long weekend and visiting the Scarborough open air theatre to see The Alarm and Status Quo. The Alexander is across the road from the theatre, making it an excellent choice of accommodation. You can even hear the afternoon sound checks from your room which was an added bonus. The room was an excellent size and had everything you needed in it. The choice at breakfast was amazing, especially the homemade Granola and banana bread. Sarah and Jim have just started offering evening meals and we chose a wood fired pizza to have before the concert, which was lovely, especially with the garlic rub on the crust. The location really is fantastic with so much to do. We didn’t move our car for the whole duration we stayed. We will definitely be returning and look forward to holidaying in Scarborough at the Alexander!

Great place to stay great people. Comfortable clean and friendly Will definitely be back Ideal place to stay for the outdoor theatre. Food is brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. Off road parking and ideal for visiting North or south Bay at Scarborough.

This is an excellent B and B. Comfortable, really clean, superb breakfast and personal care from Sarah and Jim. Highly recommended. We will be back! Thank you for a relaxing stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. You made it special. And lots of useful local information.
