We were on our way home to Sweden after a vacation and just planned to stop for a quick overnight stay before continuing our drive. We had left Italy early in the morning and just wanted to sleep. Upon arriving at the hotel, which had no staff on-site, we dropped off our bags and drove to the nearest restaurant. Around 9 PM, we returned to the hotel, planning to go to bed. That's when we noticed that the beds were made but had a lot of hair in them, there was feces in the toilet in one of the rooms, and frying pans and spatulas hadn't been washed (they were covered in grease). In one of the rooms, there was also a dead cockroach. Since it was only possible to call one phone number for emergencies on weekends, I wrote an email instead. We decided we didn't want to sleep in these filthy rooms, so we drove all night back to Sweden instead. After returning home to Sweden, I contacted the hotel to demand a refund, but they refuse. They believe I should have called the emergency number, and then they would have come out and cleaned the rooms. When would they have finished cleaning then? We still wouldn't have gotten any sleep. Furthermore, it stated that the phone number was only for emergencies, not for cleaning. They also wrote to me that I could have booked other rooms, but that wasn't possible as we booked the last two available rooms. I have sent them pictures of everything, but they do not want to compensate us. I truly cannot recommend this hotel. It's the worst I have ever visited. Glad we didn't sleep there. Who knows how we would have been affected if we had.
