Barnacle Hall

I have now stayed here three times, having been pleasantly surprised (I shouldn't have been having now read these reviews) just how comfortable, cosy and warm this house is. The rooms are immaculate with every little touch included, a beautiful tea tray in the room, fresh cookies in tupperware, fresh milk in a decent thermos mug to stay cold for the morning. The room I stayed in last, Apple, is large even when compared to some deluxe room at a major hotel chain, and the bathroom too is immense. What is also noticeable is how warm the rooms are. Breakfast is as fresh as it could possibly be with the owner, Rose, waiting until you're seated and have had your fruit/cereal etc. before cooking whatever eggs you decide. And if you're in a rush I found out this morning she will pack you a takeaway breakfast. But I'd get up earlier to experience the full breakfast! A truly lovely place to stay, incredible value, and a warm welcome. I'm keen to try out the downstairs sitting room, previous two visits have been quite late arrival and Rose on one occasions was sorting out paperwork in there! Oh, nearly forgot - being there for lambing seasons was superb - one for the kids perhaps!
