I work in experiential marketing, doing a 7 month tour across the US - as such, I'm in a new city/hotel every week. Most fall into the middle range, with some standing out as pleasant surprises! In the case of this place, it was the worst I've seen on the road. The 'non-smoking' room reeked of cigarette smoke to the point of getting headaches. I sprayed the room down with an air sanitizer, but it only covered the odor and had to be repeated every couple hours. The hot water would come and go without notice. One night after work, I stood in the back of the shower for 10 mins waiting before giving up. There were food crumbs and stains littered throughout the hotel, even in the room. Keys would constantly stop working (even stored separately from a cell phone), requiring an extra trip to the lobby, which closes at 9 pm for some reason. Several times I had to knock on the window or walk the parking lot trying to find the solo employee, who was usually smoking. I always reach out to management and Tina, the regional manager, and have heard nothing after 3 weeks. The only way this place stays in business is by everyone who has been taken advantage of it. And now it's evident that speaking up does nothing. But I'm going to escalate it to corporate to recover the wasted 6 nights I spent there and to inform them of the conditions here. A word of advice, pay a few more bucks and stay somewhere else. Your friends, associates and God forbid, your family will thank you for it!
