Grand Hotel Terme: отзывы

This was our second visit ( an 8 year gap) to this "Grand " hotel. We brought friends with us this time to show them this beautiful hotel. Sadly the hotel, except for the exceptional location, I feel is no longer so Grand. The Grounds and the location are beautiful but sadly parts of the hotel and rooms are now very dated. We booked two Superior rooms and one would expect them to be identical. My room was very disappointing. It was much smaller than my friends ( despite paying the same tariff). My husband could hardly fit into the shower ( he is slight but 1.88m and I struggled at 1.75m) The decor of the room was dated and the "balcony" could just squeeze two people onto it...at your peril. The biggest disappointment was the attitude of the on duty manager when I expressed my disappointment with the room. I was not angling for an upgrade, (although that was offered at an additional cost of 250 euros per night), we had already paid 700 Euros per night ( including breakfast). nothing else was offered to placate my disappointment except to suggest that my friends were lucky to get the larger room!! If you plan to stay here you will love the location and to be fair the breakfast was substantial and delicious and the staff generally smiley and accommodating Be prepared for the sulphur smell that travels up to the first floor pretty much every day. Enjoy the Lakeside location, Sirmione and the Ice cream Remember it comes at a high price during the peak season. Will we return next year........?????? Annie Haywood
