Watermill Cottages

What an amazingly tranquil and beautiful place. The hosts Iain and Gill were so welcoming, generous and helpful, they're around if you need them but not intrusive. You're in the heart of nature here, the skies at night were full of shooting stars and the gentle sound of the stream sends you off to sleep at night. There is everything you could need in the cottages (we had a look at others) and it's a chance to switch off from technology & TV (though there is wifi). There are beach bits and bobs for children to borrow and take with you for the day, the stream to paddle in, and we had a BBQ in our garden. There is a wonderful woodland walk behind the cottages and you can follow the stream along too. It was so relaxing and we were able to visit so many places from this base. Thank you so much Gill and Iain, we will most certainly be back.

3 generations stayed in Crownwheel Cottage this August, with little 3 year old Primrose having the very best of times, especially playing on on the slide and the trampoline! The cottage itself was really lovely, with a well kitted out kitchen, fabulous bathrooms, and a lovely sitting and dining area. We chose Crownwheel as it had an enclosed back yard so Primrose could play out there without too much supervision. Only 2 drawbacks for us was the double bed mattress was comfy, but oh so bouncy, that my husband woke me every time he made any movement at all, but I have mentioned this to the owners who may well see fit to change it. Also the lane to get there is extremely narrow and in places very steep, so make sure you have someone who is happy with this, and is good at reversing when you meet another car! However, it is a truly lovely spot.
