Your hosts live on the property and we are therefore not subject to the new regulations. This 950 sq ft cottage was completely renovated in 2021, recycling old growth wood everywhere. A net-zero modern farmhouse that sits on 2.5 acres overlooking fields is away from the Sooke River & at the 44 km marker on the Galloping Goose. Two bedrooms and one bath, incredible kitchen with high end finishing- a perfect bit of luxury on the west coast. Private and secure garden with BBQ. Pet friendly for an additional fee.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs and cats less than 50 lbs per pet (limit one pet total).$75/stay fee. Repeat guests This was our third time. As usual, Laura was a great hostess. She always came to the rescue providing anything we needed - from Body wash to butter. The private back yard is great for humans and animals.

Exceptional cottage and experience We loved our stay in this delightful cottage. The unit is well maintained, very clean, and beautifully designed. The kitchen is large, well stocked, and gorgeous. We slept in the king bed and it was very comfortable. The bathroom is stylish, well lit, and spacious. Highly recommended.

A Gem Exceptional. Make use of the trails, drive to the beaches, discover the community. This cottage is a gem of a home. It’s beautifully finished, conveniently appointed and a lovely escape from the city.

The perfect transitional home For 3 months I had the pleasure, to be a guest at Laura and Steve's lovely cottage. It was the perfect place for me to settle back into my Canadian life, after being abroad for a few years. The cottage met all my needs: private, with nature all around and my must-haves: coffee machine and internet :) The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances and in-suite laundry. It's spacious and tastefully west coast-style furnished and decorated. I felt very much at home there. Laura couldn't have been any kinder and sweeter. Was always quick to respond and help with whatever needed. Laura and Steve are wonderful hosts and I can only recommend their accommodation. Especially for those who want to actively explore the Westcoast beauty, with Galloping Goose trail literally in front of your doorstep, beaches, hiking trails, Sooke potholes and so much more. Thank you guys, for everything!

Absolute Gem! This property was beyond perfect! You won't be disappointed. The house is adorable, designed perfectly, immaculate. Private patio and backyard. Backs up to the beautiful, stunning, galloping goose trail. We walked everyday on this tree lined trail. The owners are delightful! We would have loved to stay longer. Highly recommend and would love to come back! Thank you Laura!

Paradise! Our stay was absolutely impeccable. The property has such a warm and welcoming feeling, and the owners have put a lot of love and care into the River House. I love the sustainable development of the property. We spent a beautiful day at the Sooke Potholes and couldn't have asked for a better home and place to vacation.

River House Beautiful property and a great host. Laura answered all communication promptly and was really helpful in navigating the area. Very quiet space with room for our two dogs to roam.
