Holbrook Manor & Spa

Placed in a brick single story bedroom come lounge . Very grubby carpet. Vertical blinds hanging from runners. Area generally in poor repair. Hot and and cold tap in bathroom constantly running. Garden view. (REALLY) £83 No breakfast. Reception no real interest and the garden cafe closed at 1600, despite being told it would offer some simple foodstuffs and drinks. Forget it. Spa users some were very rude and clearly guest staying over were well done the list..

Stopped for one night in room 32. If I was not so tired, I would have moved to another hotel. Although booked in through work for bed, breakfast, and evening meal, the first thing the receptionist mentioned was "are you are aware that there is no evening meals, I can recommend places to eat".. Where do I start now.. The room, advertised with "garden view," was actually a view of the grass where people from the gym / pool sit to relax afterwards.. there was no privacy whatsoever. So, I had to have the blind shut The only advantage to the room was that I could park close. Weeds and overgrown bushes outside... inside.. as entering the room, there is a bathroom on the right.. a lace curtain covered the window, yet again no privacy to the other people parking at the back / walking past. There is clear glass in the entrance door. So, once again, people can look in I felt the bathroom, bath, and shower were in such a state that I decided not to shower. There is a large bed in the room, however, woke up in the morning with many bites from some sort of insect / insects. A nice touch was having a fan as the room with doors and windows shut is warm. However, said fan was thick with dust. Breakfast.., I had a full English booked for breakfast. No asking what I wanted / how I wanted my eggs, it was just bought to the table, although the bacon seemed to be of a high quality, the rest was nothing to be desired.. and the long blonde hair found cooked into the egg white towards the end of my breakfast was definitely unwelcome... I could not check out quickly enough after this. If the owner paid out to have a lot of upgrades along with a very deep clean, garden separated from gym attendees, along with weeding and staff informed about cleanliness while cooking it could be a great place to stay...and in a great location However, if not, I would never consider staying in this (in my opinion) health hazard again. If there was an option to score zero, that would be the score I would award

We drove over an hour to Holbrook Manor and Spa, tucked away in the gorgeous Somerset countryside… and it was absolutely worth it! The manor blends classic elegance with a fresh, modern feel, making it perfect for a relaxing break, special occasion, and especially weddings. Our spacious room was very clean, with a lovely welcome amenity of a fruit platter and wine, plus a sweet handwritten note for me and my husband. The lovely swan towel art on our bed was such a nice personal touch, thank you very much ZIA! The cafe was fantastic. KASHAN and AUDREY made us feel so welcome with their friendly and attentive service. Big thanks to them and all the other staff, they were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. We loved the spa facilities. The sauna, pool, and especially the jacuzzi were the ultimate chill spots. I also had a facial that left me feeling pampered and refreshed. Bonus: The big gym onsite is great if you want to keep up your workouts or become a member. Holbrook Manor is a gorgeous getaway. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back! :)

Stayed for my nieces wedding which was also held at Holbrook Manor. A charming setting. The house is as you would expect old and a little rustic in places but overall a wonderful experience. My room was clean, the bed comfortable with everything you could possibly need including tea, coffee, toiletries ironing board, TV and fan. I used the spa facilities which include a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and pool. Whilst the decor around the pool is a little jaded the pool itself is great. Plenty of lovely places to sit outside. Breakfast included everything as expected and was great. Staff were very helpful. I would definitely come again.

This place is laughable. Luckily the sun was shining for our stay which made it bareable. There appears to be a complete lack of maintenance staff with any skills, and customer service is non existent. Our tv didn't work, the spa/pool area resembles a poorly maintained public swimming pool. We came because it seemed a cheap deal,so can't really complain as you definitely get a sad dated hotel in desperate need of investment and tlc. Best bit were the beautiful grounds, don't be fooled by the website and photos of the grand house.
