Travelodge Birmingham Sutton Coldfield

Unfortunately this time we stayed here, wasn't the same as the last time we stayed. The room smelt odd, like an old nursing home smell. The beds were extremely lumpy and uncomfortable, you roll into the centre of it when you get in. The bathroom is falling apart! All the panelling is chipped and coming away from the walls. The bath mat in the bath had weird dark stains on it. The door to the bathroom looked like the inside of a prison cell door. We could also smell **** coming in through the windows from somewhere outside. There is mould all around the edges of the window from condensation. This was in room number 13. Very basic, one plug socket in the whole room. I'm glad it was only for 1 night, I would have complained if we were staying longer, but it was somewhere to put our head down for a few hours. This hotel needs a major refurb.

It is beyond me how they can charge £75 a night for this hotel! It is the most run down hotel I have ever been to! Not the cleanest either, extractor fan in the shower full to the brim with dust! I stayed on the ground floor and can hear on the floor above whenever they are walking! This hotel needs to shut and have a total refurb!

Receptionist gave us the warmest of welcomes on arrival and we checked in very quickly. Hotel was warm, clean and had everything we need - plus the location was perfect for our plans. Highly recommended!

Arrived at 7pm to find room full of cigarette smoke and both windows Receptionist was rude but did provide a fan. Had to keep door open and both windows. Kept fan on all night and windows open. Manager very apologetic next day and very helpful. Said previous occupants would be fined £150, people do this all the time but that didn’t help us. Surely this is a fire safety hazard and I do not understand if you have to vacate rooms by 12noon why room had not been properly checked and aired.

Comfortable and clean. Spacious room. Friendly snd professional staff. Wetherspoons just across the road fors agreat breakfast

Not good to spend to stay. Not maintained look very old. Parking free but share with a pub and not have enough room to park and it may cause damage to the vehicle.
