Some guests have returned each summer for many years; and now they share 'their week' with grandchildren. The kitchen has been renovated to include new cupboards, granite countertops & appliances, including a crockpot and a waffle maker. It is outfitted with everything you could need to make everything from pimento cheese spread to a low country shrimp boil.In the living area and throughout the condo you'll find a variety of books and magazines, so it's easy to find something great to read. Whether you're looking for the perfect beach novel or a children's book on turtle nesting, there's something for everyone. We keep a variety of puzzles and games which you're sure to enjoy spreading out on the large dining room table. Even if bad weather keeps you away from the beach, you'll have plenty of entertainment indoors. The bathrooms have been completely restructured and tiled. All new fixtures in the bathrooms, including regular bath tubs, and unlike many other condos, we've moved the sinks out of the bedrooms and into the bathrooms.The living, dining and bedrooms' furniture and decor are continually updated and/or replaced as needed. With my renter's help, I try to keep the condo ready to be enjoyed as I would my home. New double-paned Energy Star windows have made such a difference in sound and comfort! The outside heat and cold temperatures stay outside. The new front loading clothes washer and dryer are also Energy Star. ***IMPORTANT NOTE***I am not an agent, and I only rent and share my own personal condo and am not able to provide/supervise cleaning services. I ask my renters to clean up after themselves, and I have found through the years that they do a better job than any of the maid services I have used. You will not be charged a cleaning fee, but you must make sure the property is cleaned for the next renter.***ABOUT THE ISLAND:Harbor Island has 2 miles of beautiful clean beach, sand crabs dancing, loggerhead turtles nesting and hatching, egret and heron rookeries, an occasional alligator or porpoise sighting, watching the tide come in and the shrimp boats go out. Harbor is about angel wing shells and sand dollar searches, about crabbing, fishing, incredible sunrises and sunsets, sea oats and cat tails, fiddler crabs, rare birds, dowagers, sand pipers, pelicans, and the surrounding marsh which serves as a nursery for all of it. ABOUT THE LOCATION:Harbor is next door to Hunting Island State Park with its fishing pier, museum and lots of Park Ranger programs. Harbor is a 20 minute drive from Beaufort, South Carolina with its riverfront park, nice restaurants and wonderful shops. Many movies have been filmed in Beaufort and on the surrounding islands - you may recognize some of the beautiful scenery. Finally, Harbor is about an hour away from historic Savannah, Georgia to the south and Charleston, South Carolina to the north. One visit to Harbor, I would venture to predict, will not be enough. There are also multiple areas to hang out both inside and out so everyone can enjoy time together but also find a quiet spot when needed. Walking through the front door you immediately enjoy the expansive views of oceanfront living. Four bedrooms, four full baths, kitchen, living area and covered porch are all on the second floor. This home has a well-stocked, open kitchen complete with marble countertops, Viking dual ovens, griddle and 6 gas burners. There is a new top of the line gas grill, Keurig and everything you need to cook as little or as much as you like.The custom zink island overlooks a dining area that seats 8, great room and porch. This spacious plan allows everyone in the family or group to enjoy the conversation and the sweeping views of the maritime forest and ocean. The main living area opens out to a large covered porch that holds a table and chairs as well as a couch and chairs. Great space to enjoy coffee, playing games, reading or just relaxing and listening to the ocean. The first large master retreat is at the back of the house with gorgeous views through a full wall of windows and sliding doors. This master includes a Sleep Number king bed that you can set to your ideal mattress firmness. There is also a sitting area with an ottoman, chairs and a side table. This table can double as a desk for those who need to do a bit of work while still enjoying the beach.The private bath includes an italian tub, walk-in shower (with a view!), his-and-her vanities, and private water closet. The second master bedroom also includes a king-size bed facing a wall of windows to enjoy endless sunlight and the view. There is a private bath and access to the back porch. The third upstairs bedroom has a California king and access to a full bathroom.The fourth bedroom, dubbed the aquarium, has 2 twin beds and its own ensuite. The fifth room is located on the ground floor. The bunk room offers a bunk bed, day bed and trundle for a total of 4 twin beds. There are two sinks and a bathroom off this room.There is a brand new ground floor lounge area fitted with a smart TV for streaming, and DVD player that is perfect for children and teens. Just off the lounge is a covered patio with stepping stones that leads to a private sun deck. This is the best spot for stargazing! An outside shower makes it convenient to rinse off after returning from the beach. A large garage allows covered parking for one during your stay. There are beach chairs, coolers and a wagon to pull your things in the garage. We also provide a 4 person golf cart for you to use during your stay.This home is between beach access 6 and 7. These are some of the longer boardwalks but the payoff is huge, uncrowded beaches. We often see deer on our walk to and from the beach. If you prefer a quick drive, there are over 30 different access points across the island you can use to find your favorite spot!This home is located on a small, quiet street on the quiet side of the island. This is not a party house.NO DOGS are allowed! This includes emotional support animals. Service dogs are allowed if proper paperwork is provided at the time of booking.Fripp Island is located on a 3000-acre, private island which is known for its scenic beauty, friendly wildlife (deer, alligators, birds and more), and three-and-one-half miles of uncrowded beaches. There are TVs in each room with high speed internet. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, and dryer. The kitchen is fully stocked with a variety of pots and pans including a crockpot, large cooker for shrimp and crabs, toaster, coffee maker, blender, and more! You will need to bring coffee, spices, and such. The master bedroom has a king size bed with a full bath. The second bedroom includes two twin beds and a full bath/shower. Additional perks including a chairs for the beach, boogie boards, kid sand toys, puzzles, novels, tennis rackets, a minnow net, various board games, and more are available.
