Я приезжаю в Дашиму второй раз. Хотя отель немного старый, удобства в нем очень большие. Зелень очень хорошая. В общественной зоне. Номер большой, с прекрасным видом на море. Это лучший отель. Такой изысканный и элитный отель, но очень удобный и чистый. На день рождения мне подарили шампанское. Еда в отеле средняя. На первом этаже есть супермаркет, который может удовлетворить ваши потребности, включая предметы первой необходимости и небольшие лекарства. Это очень удобно. Единственным недостатком является то, что здесь нет ни больницы, ни медицинских услуг. Однажды у меня сильно покраснели глаза и болели из-за конъюнктивита, связанного с серфингом. Мне пришлось поехать в соседний отель-партнер, чтобы обратиться к врачу. И очень неудобно, что у нас нет бутилированной воды.

Обстановка в отеле отличная. Окруженный горами и обращенный к морю. Он оборудован теннисными кортами и полями для гольфа, откуда открывается непревзойденный вид на море. Все рестораны выходят на море, и пейзажи приятные. Отель имеет внутреннюю открытую структуру с видом на все стороны. Двор оформлен в восточном стиле. Если вы забронируете номер с видом на пляж, вы сможете наблюдать за огромными волнами, разбивающимися о берег, и наслаждаться восходом и закатом солнца с балкона. Оформление номера и удобства отличные. Просто площадь немного меньше. Завтрак «шведский стол» не дешевый, но качество очень хорошее. У консьержа отеля есть много заказов на мероприятия, но я впервые был на большом острове, поэтому я просто осматривал достопримечательности и гулял на улице. Не присутствовал, извините. Впервые я увидел велотренажеры отеля в вестибюле с видом на море. Это идеальный пятизвездочный курортный отель. Он особенно подходит для проживания в отелях, игры в гольф, теннис и участия в различных видах спорта за рубежом.

Всегда фантастическое обслуживание. Они всегда заставляют вас чувствовать себя желанными и расслабленными!

Consistently our favorite resort, even under renovation! Have visited multiple times over the years and it never disappoints. The beach is absolutely breathtaking!! Our favorite beach to swim and snorkel. The resort and rooms are gorgeous. Love the room amenities and attention to detail. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Cannot say enough good things about this resort!

We spent a week here with our family for vacation and we all agreed—one of our favorites! We were there while they were remodeling the main tower, but everything was still so nice. We had beach front rooms and loved opening the curtains to the gorgeous bay each morning. There are plenty of spaces throughout the resort to sit and enjoy the views—from the beach, the lawn, the many patios and the pool. When we were there, it was low capacity due to the construction but it was very quiet and relaxing. The bay is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. They offer boat rides and other fun adventures. We felt safe and also safe letting our teens go around the property by themselves. The staff was super friendly too. If we ever come back to HI, we would stay here again.

This is a classic hotel that we've stayed at since 1980. It has always been a joy to be there, and it seems like coming home when one arrives. If one has been a previous guest at this great hotel you will appreciates the time there and won't quibble about the very minor inconveniences that one might experience at this time during renovation. It has a great loyal staff that joyfully recognizes you when you return and treats you accordingly. The property is an architectural gem. Those of us who have made it their regular vacation home on the Big Island will return again & again to make sure that no major changes have been made during any renovation. This is my first time back as a recent widower and I realize now more than ever that a part of my husband and I will never leave the Mauna Kea.

Amazing stay at the Mauna Kea as always, the entire staff was kind and helpful and provided everything needed for a fantastic vacation. Small service details like two luggage holders, ample towels, water bottles, morning coffee stations etc. made us feel at home. The beach crew was exceptional, Victor went above and beyond to help us get started with the SUPs and enjoy all the beach amenities. The beach equipment being free now is a huge plus for us, it really made it carefree to enjoy whatever activities we wanted, whenever we felt like it. We knew about the construction in advance and it didn't affect our stay too much. Yes the un-renovated room was showing its age but still clean and comfortable. Food was ok but the menus need updating with more fresh/healthy and grab/go options like the Westin. All in all the Mauna Kea remains our favorite hotel on our favorite beach in Hawaii and we can't wait to return!

Been here several times. Main building currently under renovation so we stayed in the southern wing. Rooms are dank and need TLC. Can only assume they're doing the main building first, and when that's done, I assume they'll renovate the southern building. Beach is lovely. We ate almost all meals off-campus as food options are limited during renovation. I have fond memories of this property. It currently looks tired and needs a lot of deferred maintenance handled. The internet is slow and also needs attention.....30 up and down. The renovation work wasn't too intrusive, and it will be interesting to see how far $250m goes toward rejuvenating this place.

First time to stay here and not sure how the construction would impact our stay. Let me just say that it was great! From the check in process, to the rooms, to the staff at the beach, to the night time room attendants, it was a great stay! 2/3 of the resort is under major construction. We never heard any construction noise. I was told that construction will continue well into 2025. Best part of our stay was the lack of people. Beach was almost empty. I would highly recommend this resort while it’s under construction.

We stayed here during the renovation. We were skeptical before our vacation, but it was unfounded and actually really nice that there were so few people staying at the hotel. We have usually stayed in the Deluxe Oceanfront Rooms, but the Main Tower was being renovated during our stay. We ended up staying in a Beachfront Room which, while these rooms are going to be remodeled soon, was still nice. We were in a top floor room, and we loved the view and the privacy. Being able to sit on the balcony, watch the sunset and listen to the ocean was heavenly. Having all of the beach equipment available for rental, without having to pay additional fees, was another wonderful perk. We also loved the breakfast buffet. We didn't miss it a single day. If you get the breakfast buffet, the made to order omelets, home-made banana bread and POG juice are amazing. We are Titanium Elite for life so the breakfast buffet was free of charge for us. In addition, there are laundry facilities on the ground floor of the beachfront building which is also free and available for use. They even provide the Tide detergent and the Bounce dryer sheets. The only CONS that we can offer are the following. 1. The coffee in the restaurant is awful. They are apparently stuck with it until the renovation is done. We instead opted for espresso drinks which was way better. And 2. There is no adult pool area so if you go to the pool, expect kids having fun and making noise. While we love children, when we go away on vacation, just the two of us, we like a more "zen" experience and less children. However, I believe that once the renovation is done, there may be an adult only pool area which would be amazing, but I am not 100% certain of this.

Have visited the Mauna Kea since the eighties, really love this place as I return to it as often as possible. Breakfast is always a great experience but other meals are overpriced and lacking. The staff were friendly and professional. The issue I was frustrated with was that guests would “claim” beach loungers from early morning to late afternoon. I do believe that these lounger hogs should be addressed by the hotel staff.

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon. It was incredible. I was a little concerned about the construction but we never noticed it! The resort is low occupancy, so it never felt crowded. We especially enjoyed the breakfast staff Floyde, Melinda, and Jenny. And at dinner Blake served us twice and did a really great job. The rooms were awesome and we were thrilled with the housekeeping. We look forward to coming back!
