Superb resort!! Have paddy field view rooms !! They are sustainable!! The rooms are new and very good! Less options for veg options also recommend if they can mark it’s a green veg mark for all veg options Overall a very good stay go for it

Let me tell you I have travelled round the world but nothing compares to the hospitality of Sri Lanka. When we arrived in Yala a bit early we were welcomed so warmly by the staff , did the traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Our room was ready even though it was way before the checkin time. The rooms are perfect over seeing the pool and rice fields , green green all around with birds chirping and seeing the peacock fly around. Food was exceptional and for the safari they packed breakfast around 5:30 am. Let me tell you just go with KITHALA and don’t think trust me, felt like home. Must mention few of them like the chef Saman and his entire team for preparing fabulous food. F&B supervisors - Iresh and Janith. Benji wathsala and ka ishka. Thank all the housekeeping department and but obviously the ever smiling front office everyone. Sorry I don’t remember everyone’s name but thank you for making it a memorable holiday.

A small but charming banquet hotel over looking a paddy field which makes up for its size with nicely furnished rooms, friendly staff (A++) and a restaurant filled with farm to table delicious organic food made by an experienced Sri lankan chef. I’ve been to katharagama multiple times in the past few years and stayed at hotels like Tamarind lake, chandrika hotel etc but this by far blows all of them out of the water. Kithala will be my go to place anytime i go to Katharagama in the future. Now the cons (more like things to improve than cons). The rooms were spacious the bathroom was smaller than usual especially the shower in the lower level could benefit from a bit more space. Even though the food was great and there was variety, as a vegetarian unless you are able to handle traditional Sri lankan food, you will not have much in terms of choices. So this is something the Hotel should look at. Overall AAA + stay and we had a relaxing time at the resort. Thank you…

Hotel great, location amazing, staff just perfect, special thanks to Iresh for his kind and professional work. Swiming pool a bit to hot for my personal taste , air conditioner in the room works perfectly, the food is also great.0

Family visit 2024 April I booked over the internet with NDB credit card offer. 10% discount for it . FB for 2 double room with 8 years old kid cost about 71000. Rooms. Clean, kings bed, rooms. I took ground floor pool access rooms. Bathrooms Having very big bath showers and lotions and shampoos. I never experienced it before. Meals Both dinner and breakfast had buffet. It was with week day with limited room occupancy. But it was very impressive buffet. Live stations with hoppers and egg/ omelet was arranged. Pool Baby and adult pool is available. Surrounding Paddy fields and small lake is next to pool. In town , can’t expect such a place . Staff Very friendly and supportive. It’s among all staff members. Mr. Indunil Thithtgagala looks Resturant with visitors reviews may keep it up. Over all experience Value for the money.

Very peaceful and relaxing hotel with restaurants in walking distance. Room was spacious and very clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and all of the staff friendly and accomodating - we had a really nice stay here

Without doubt one of the favorite hotels we stayed during April holiday season. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The staff was extremely friendly,very efficient,the restaurant staff was very flexible and the restaurant supervisor deserves a special thanks. Foods were delicious.Clean rooms.Highly recommend for any one who looking for a peaceful vacation.

Very good food. We can select western or Sri Kankan cuisine. Staff was excellant and helpful. Yala and Katharagama is very near by to this hotel. They arrange a safari jeep to Yala. Would like if there are more actvities for the kids. Double room size is bit small for a family.

We arrived off a main road, straight into the small carpark/ entrance and thought this doesn't look that nice but when we got out of the car we were immediately greeted and shown into the large peaceful Reception/relaxing area, there is no real communal area to this hotel other than this space and the restaurant. Our room was on the top/1st floor to the right and was relatively small but very nice with a small balcony and wonderful view of the pool and surrounding paddy fields. It's a great place to stop if your going on safari to yale national park and a wonderful place to relax by the pool in the afternoon.
