Roslyn House

Roslyn House was recommended to me by a friend and it did not disappoint! The rooms aren't particularly big, but that just adds to the charme. And even though smaller in size, they definitely make up for it with all the amenities like the generous daily in-room breakfast, the provided bathrobes or the inviting honesty bar. While a lot of hotels decide to discontinue daily room-keeping, this "staff-less" guest house fortunately isn't following this trend (that being said, I would prefer there being an option to choose not having the towels exchanged daily (we hung them up nicely every day only to find them replaced once we got back from exploring the island)). The guest house is in short walking distance to the main town area and comes with easy street parking. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Mull.

This was sold as a luxury B and B. The wallpaper and lamps were delightful and the view magnificent. The bed was comfortable enough although I have stayed in better. The biggest negative was the price (£300 per night) which was definitely in the luxury category. I believe there should be an element of service with luxury accommodation. Entry is by key pad and you have to ensure you have an email with entry instructions. We saw people who didn't and waited a while to gain entry. The breakfast was extensive but cold- all items packaged and placed in the room the day before, including the crusty rolls. There was only a small quantity of fruit, and the orange juice tasted cheap. An honesty bar is available with a good selection of whisky and gin but is more expensive that the full service bars on the seafront that we tried. There are no instructions to operate the heating. What I enjoy about Scottish B and Bs is speaking to a friendly owner and enjoying a cooked breakfast, showcasing the best of Scotland. This is not it. If however you travel to enjoy fancy wallpaper at a price higher than some full service 4-5 star hotels in Edinburgh Roslyn House might fit the bill. If it had been sold as an AirBNB at half the price I would ave given it a good review. On this occasion I felt I did not get what I paid for.

Room- well-furnished and very comfortable. Location- short steep walk up from the harbour. Nice and quiet at night for sleeping. One bottle of sparkling wine on the first day. One bottle of still water (we didn’t use but guess it would be renewed) Breakfast- not the healthiest but plentiful and good quality. Each day a crusty white roll each, a croissant each, a Yeo valley natural yoghurt each, small pots of jam and honey, lots of butter and Flora, a jar of granola and two jars of fruit. One large bag of salted crisps. 4 coffee pods, 8 mixed tea bags. 400ml milk, a carton of soy milk, 400ml orange juice. The table is too small for all the food! Fridge- big enough to put a few extras in. Electric sockets- lots of 3 pin sockets in the room. There is a small kettle. Cleaning is done well every day and towels changed. Bar- well-stocked with whisky, spirits and soft drinks. Credit card machine there for paying.

A fabulous new hotel in Tobermory. Loved the self check in, the hotel has been beautifully renovated and was spotlessly clean throughout - everything was perfect and I would definitely book again when back in Tobermory - I would highly recommend it

The Roslyn House is simply spectacular. It’s a small property with only a few rooms BUT it is an exquisite little jewel. The decor is tasteful and beautifully executed. Every detail tiny is perfect. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and had a very pretty view. There is a small lounge for relaxing with an evening drink and a breakfast hamper including a selection of meats, cheese and bread/croissants is provided in room along with coffee/tea and juice, yogurt and cereal. There is ample on street parking immediately proximate to the property and several fun dining options just a 3 minute drive down into Tobermory. If we ever return to Tobermory, we would book into Rosyln House.

Lovely place, had a great stay. Absolutely loved it, charming and unique. The breakfast and provisions in the room was great and the decor was flawless. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was fantastic.
