Chrisann's Beach Resort

This was a wonderful, top level 3-star resort (i.e., not high-end, colonized type service) that received our highest rating. Jamaica itself is paradise, which goes without having to say aloud. But I did. Chrisann’s resort has individually owned apartments that are well-maintained by the local staff. Security is good, attentive, but not lockdown, which was fine. The apartment was well-appointed with a fully stocked kitchen. Everything was fine there (a/c, fan, bathroom, dining area, loft bedroom, and living room). Be sure to walk across the street and get low priced takeout from Marshal’s. On the other hand, you’ll pay a lot for Jamaican food from The Tower Isle Restaurant. The Italian restaurant was not so good. Our apartment’s owner (Marian Titus, #10) provided very good details about how to get around. We used Jamoy, who was always courteous and early for pick ups. We chose to jump in crowded taxis for transportation, which cost $1USD. But you can pay $10 USD to get to Ocho Rios, too. Your call. The resort has a nice swimming pool that I swam in daily. There’s a lagoon protected from the harsh sea waters. It’s a good place to frolic, but not swim. Even as a Black man, I loved laying out in the sun and doing absolutely nothing. It was low season, so it wasn’t busy. Everyone is friendly. The resort is located just outside of Ocho Rios, but that’s what we wanted - to not be in the middle of everything. We highly recommend this resort.
