Boutique Hotel Vela Vrata

Real old town hotel with modern facilities and old charm. No lift, so prepare to walk up the stairs. Bathroom is compact but functional, standard room is standard, but the terrace area and drinks/food are brilliant. Excellent quality and service, a great place to visit and stay.

A beautiful, quaint boutique hotel in the charming town of Buzet! The staff was amazing! We had dinner there both nights of our stay and it was amazing! Sat outside and enjoyed the most amazing views!

We loved the setting on a beautifully neat street at the entry to the very authentic feeling old town of Buzet; dinner was superb, ambitious and successful cuisine, out on the terrace, and breakfast excellent too, although served in a duller room upstairs at the back. Parking was very easy for us, right by the hotel, and the indoor pool was bigger than I expected. Our traditionally styled room was small, and not one to linger in, but on a fine evening the old village streets are a pleasure to wander through.

This was a wonderful experience in the mountains of Istria, close to the border with Slovenia. A truly charming hotel atop a winding and narrow road in the Stari Grad from the modern part of town below. The surrounding scenery presented a range of stunning views of the hills and valley below. Amazingly, we were able to park outside the hotel without charge and I remain confused by the one parking meter 10 yards away which appeared not to be necessary for anyone parked in front of the hotel ! On the first evening, we dined in the restaurant on the ground floor. Service and food both excellent and entertainment provided by a group of male Austrian Cyclists (12 in number) relaxing after a testing day on the hilly terrain around, whom we got talking to. As they were offered a post-dinner schnapps, we felt it only proper we should be considered honorary members of the group and were similarly rewarded by the waiting team, which we very much appreciated. This led me into a conversation with head waiter, Dean, who turned out to be a fan of English Premier League and, amazingly, a particular fan of Arsenal. We thank him in particular for his attentive service and good humour. Thanks also to the endlessly helpful lady at reception who provided us with some details of a local walk which took us down the very steep hillside and along the valley of the River Mirna towards Buzetski Canyon on Saturday ensuring we had a most healthy appetite for dinner that evening. We dined just as well as the first evening at a lovely restaurant just round the corner and up the hill from the hotel, Vero Tartufo, I think, famous for truffles. Breakfast was served on the top floor in a large room with a most abundant presentation of food and very helpful staff. I particularly enjoyed the pre-made cereal/fruit and yoghurt jars and wide range of breads and croissants. The old town is very charming and easily walked around in 15 minutes with plenty of history recorded on various plaques. Minor point : why dinner in restaurant couldn't be charged to room ? Is it a different ownership ? By the way, there was also excellent outdoor seating with beautiful views.

Ho soggiornato presso l'hotel Vela Vrata della graziosa cittadina di Buzet, in Istria, per 4 notti tra Natale e capodanno e mi sono trovato benissimo. L'hotel si presenta come una struttura composta da un edificio principale che comprende reception, ristorante, SPA, piscina coperta e locale colazione, e una dependance con 4 ampie camere adatte per famiglie numerose, e dotate anche di cucina, angolo cottura, microonde e frigorifero. Noi abbiamo scelto questa sistemazione, e la camere si presenta subito come molto curata, amplia e comoda, con un grande letto matrimoniale che in realtà sono due letti uniti (ma all'estero è difficile trovare letti veramente matrimoniali a meno di non spendere cifre importanti), e un altro divano letto supplementare decisamente ampio. Ottimo e curato il parquet a terra in tutto l'appartamento, il riscaldamento a pavimento per la zona bagno e l' aria condizionata, peccato che al nostro arrivo non funzionasse, ma ne parlerò successivamente. La struttura si trova in una posizione davvero incantevole, romantica e indimenticabile, quasi alla sommità di una rocca dominata dalla chiesa di Buzet alta. L'hotel in sostanza occupa una intera strada in salita stretta e a senso unico, che affaccia direttamente sulla vallata sottostante e che mostra un bellissimo panorama . Questa stradina è tutta in acciottolato, pulitissima e curatissima, sembra un boulevard di Parigi con muri in pietra, alti alberi e - nel nostro periodo di soggiorno - numerose ma discrete luminarie natalizie.. insomma l'atmosfera che si respira è davvero rilassata, serena e indimenticabile. La reception affaccia direttamente sulla strada e su un dehor che ospita il bar e il ristorante (dove propongono portate di tartufo locale e menù a prezzi fissi), e non appena abbiamo posteggiato la macchina la gentilissima ed efficiente signora della reception ci ha indicato come raggiungere il parcheggio privato (chiuso da un cancello elettrico, quindi massimo della sicurezza: chiedete il telecomando elettronico, è gratis e serve solo una cauzione di ben 10€..) , ci ha portato di persona le chiavi della stanza e ci ha aiutato con le manovre della macchina per poter scaricare i bagagli, addirittura correndo verso l'arco di ingresso e uscita dalla stradina per fermare eventuali macchine ed agevolarci lo scarico, che dire - chapeau a questa accoglienza efficiente, gentilissima, sorridente e che fa già iniziare bene la vacanza. Il parcheggio è direttamente sottostante alla dependance , come si vede dalla foto, peccato che per tornare all'hotel l'unico accesso è una scalinata estremamente ripida e piena di scalini di altezze differenti, pericolosissima perchè buia a parte un faretto nella parte alta.. mi permetto di suggerire alla struttura magari di illuminare meglio perché tra valigie e buio l'inciampo è dietro l'angolo. Tornando alla stanza, come detto è estremamente confortevole, i materassi sono di buona qualità , la metratura è davvero amplia e il bagno pulitissimo e

Ottimo hotel nella piccola buzet camere spaziose ben servite e ottima la pulizia, la zona spa e bellissima e ottima l'idea che la prenoti è tutta la zona è totalmente escusiva per te e x chi con te, molto bella anche la piscina coperta e riscaldata, super la colazione, il personale molto gentile e molto qualificato, ottimo il prezzo. Peccato per il parcheggio un po' troppo piccolo.
