Hotel Harriet

I had a truly unpleasant experience at Harrie Hotel in Turku during my one-night stay from June 21-22. From the moment I arrived, the service and conditions were appalling. Due to a late flight, I checked in later than planned, only to be confronted by the owner demanding an extra fee for a "late check-in." I felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of the situation. As if that wasn't enough, they also tried to charge me additional money for an en suite bathroom, which was already included in my reservation. The owner was exceptionally rude and dismissive when I pointed this out, behaving in an impolite and incorrect manner throughout our interaction. The hotel itself is in terrible shape. The building is old, poorly maintained, and felt filthy. The rooms were far from the cleanliness standards one would expect, and the overall atmosphere was depressing. It's clear that no effort has been made to ensure a comfortable stay for guests. This was, without a doubt, a very negative experience. The hotel's attempt to scam me for additional fees, combined with the owner's rude behavior and the rundown state of the facilities, made this one the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here.

We had booked three nights but had to leave after two nights as there were black marks on the mattress and my friend was bitten. We strongly suspect bedbugs. The owner accused us of false information and refused to compensate us for the lost night. To make matters worse, the owner threatened to report me to the police if I wrote a review. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone.

Walls and windows are probably made of cardboard paper since you hear everything going on inside and outside of this hostel. Window blinds are of the cheapest variety and woefully inadequate for nordic summer where it starts to get bright at 4am. No recommended if you want a good night sleep.

Friendly staff, basic but central. Nice comfortable stay in a central location. I would actually stay there again, with friendly staff.
