Peacock Guest House - Lake View Hotel in Udaipur

We were  so lucky to have  found  this place. Where do I start?  You have to be comfortable climbing stairs but once  I got to my room it was comfortable, beautifully decorated and opened on to a an outside area with cushions to relax on and a gorgeous view of  Udaipur.  The dining room on the top floor served us wonderful food. The young *** managing things, Roshi, was kind, attentive and fun and he worked with his sweet mother Nina  who does the cooking and also teaches cooking classes at the hotel. The second day we were there we also met Roshi’s father Muna, who started  the guesthouse decades ago. He was so much fun that we asked him to join us for dinner and had a blast. We LOVE the Peacock and would never stay anywhere else!

Family owned and operated with such a lovely staff. Highly recommend this place. The food at the restaurant and the views are great! What a place! If you come to Udaipur, support local and stay here. Roshi and his team take care of you and make u feel welcome. He will also organise a driver to pick you up and drop you off at the airport.

We had the most wonderful 4 night stay at this lovely guest house. What made our stay so special was the lovely family who run the guest house. Roshi, and his parents Muna and Neena. They were the best hosts we have ever encountered in any trip around the world. The food cooked by Neena was delicious, wonderful curries and breads. Breakfast and coffee was very nice too. We enjoyed spending time talking with Muna and Roshi. Roshi was also so very kind and helpful arranging taxis for us locally and to the airport and giving local recommendations of places to visit too. It made our stay very easy and enjoyable. The views are simply amazing from the terraces, and we enjoyed relaxing watching the lovely views of the lake. We had lovely massages in the shop next door run by a lovely family too. We would thoroughly recommend this guest house to everyone visiting Udaipur and we wish the family all the happiness and success for the future, we will always remember our happy memories of the Peacock Guest House, thank you 🙏

The peacock paying guest house has a great vibe because it is a family run business. The family are very friendly and willing to help with any support and info you need getting taxi or tuk tuk, info on attractions and how to get around the city. Their dining room has the most spectacular view of the lake and floating palace. You can spend hours just sitting and watching the view. And sunsets are incredible! the food is home cooked authentic indian food, very fresh and extremely tasty! be forewarned, like many hotels and home stays in the area there are many stairs to get up to the dining area but the view and the food are worth it. And hey we can all use the exercise, right?

View from the guest house is really good but the room is average. And washroom is too congested.

The location and view is really good, rooms are good and clean too but don’t recommend for aged people who has knee problem because of steep stairs. Overall very nice for any one who whats to enjoy view and also doesn’t want to go for well known brand always.
