Locanda Cà le Vele

I love Cannaregio and would not stay anywhere else and to find such a simple and well curated place like Locanda Ca' le Vale is almost a rarity these days. Ok, you aren't there to spend time in your room so it's not important the room is quite tiny. It is very quiet, 50 metres from a busy Strada Nova and 50 metres from everywhere you want to be in Cannaregio, with the bars, the restaurants and NOT the San Marco crowds. Very easy to use even when there is no one at reception, you will feel it's a very homely place. Not super cheap... but then again, you are in Venice.

We wanted a room with viewand balcony towards a canal. This was perfect with balcony towards two bridges. Regulary passed by local transport and gondola. Room clean. Good wifi. Quite at night time. Easy access - only about 200 meters from Vaporetta stop Ca d´Oro. Breakfast available in room at 7€ if wanted. Helpful staff. "Main steet" (Nuvo strada) towards Rialto/St Marco only 30 meters away. Far more quiet and interesting north and east of this place - more real local life Veneice. We recommend this stay.

Don't go here unless you like being without a room at night in Venice with your family. We booked out room through an online site and chose the option provided to pay at the hotel. On the way to the hotel, while on the train, we received a message from the manager stating that they no longer have a room for us and have arranged for us to stay elsewhere! On arriving at the hotel, there was no one at the reception, so we called the emergency number. The manager was extremely rude and hung up on us! We were there with 2 young kids! Thank God we were able to secure another hotel at that time. I strongly recommend finding somewhere else to stay. We contacted the original website and they were horrified by the way were treated and have filed a complaint against the owner. Never again!

came to Venice for my mothers 50th birthday and we did not inform the hotel of this. When we arrive the staff were welcoming and very helpful! in our room we received a bottle of fiz with a birthday note which was very kind and a lovely addition to our stay! This hotel is in a great place and is beautifully decorated. Would definitely recommend!

Great hotel, with Venetian decoration! But overpriced! 1036 euros for a double room for 5 nights is very expensive compared to the lower quality services it provides. There was no hand soap in the bathroom and luckily we had brought a little soap from Greece. The shower gel had run out and they didn't replace it, so we couldn't have a bath the last night before we left. The TV was out of order, though a “satellite TV” had been promised. The bed sheets were never changed in 5 days and the carpet was never swept, even though “daily cleaning” had been mentioned. Actually, “daily cleaning” included only changing towels and emptying trash bins. When the cleaning lady came in the room, she made the beds just putting on a dirty Venetian blind and underneath the bed sheets were unmade and wrinkled. When we complained about all these things at the reception, they told us that for 2 days there was a “no disturb” out of our door. Indeed, only 2 days. The other 3? This is a big embarassment! It’s a pity! Surily we will never use the services again!

We booked this hotel months ago in 2021. The card we used to authorise the booking expired this month, instead of contacting us to update the card they simply cancelled the booking just before our stay leaving us high and dry. As soon as we got the notification we contacted them but they had re sold the room at twice the price, presumably. Disgraceful practice and shocking customer service. I have formerly complained to ***********, who emailed me to say that my new card had confirmed the booking. But the greed and lack of any form of customer service, from this awful place, overruled any sense of commitment and service.
