Parador de Vielha

4월 눈덮인 설산의 경치가 창밖으로 보이는 전망과 주변 트레킹 코스에 접근 용이한 위치는 탁월하였음. 부담없이 이용 가능한 지하 카페에서 바깥 전망과 함께 한 휴식도 좋았음.

Wonderful location above the town of Vielha. From the outsides, think 70s breeze block prison, but once inside what a wonderful place to stay. Very comfortable, large rooms and lots of relaxation/lounge/bar areas. We had a room with a view. The circular dining room is fabulous to enjoy an evening meal in. We only stayed one night, but good to return.

As part of our recent holiday in Spain we spent one night in the Parador in Vielha. The impression was that it is more a winter holiday hotel – for the skiing, and we were there in September, so it was probably quieter than during the peak periods, but all facilities were available. The hotel is situated about 1km outside the town, in the middle of a hairpin bend on the road to Lleida. Others have commented about noise from trucks using the road, but we were unaware of any, and we slept well. Views from the hotel are amazing. The room was a good size (we had a junior suite), well equipped with tea-making equipment, the bed comfortable, the bathroom clean and again well stocked with toiletries. We ate in the restaurant, there are no other possibilities to wall to, although probably a walk into town would not have been a problem, but the steep hill back certainly would have been, not to mention dangerous. The food was good, well served and not too expensive. In fact, in line with most Paradors, it is the staff that were one of the best features and this was certainly the case here, without exception they were polite, helpful and friendly, which contributed to the excellent stay we experienced. Downsides? Probably only one small point. Although there is an outside pool, it is not heated, but the hotel does have a small heated indoor pool for which they charge 24€. A bit over the top!

As always a journey in a Parador is exceptional! It is so nice, well decorated, clean, good staff. The food is very good. The Vielha is very well located on a hill, facing the mountains and the city centre. It is amazing. We recommend it to anyone who wishes to spend a nice vacation.

A beautiful 4 star hotel that needs renovation and improvement especially of the rooma, unfortunately the service ,the rooms and the restaurant are not run properly for a 4 stars hotel. In our opinion the hotel manager is also not functioning as required since he is not working to create a good and pleasant feeling of hospitality for the hotel guests

Great choice. Personnel is specially professional, kind and dedicated. Breakfast are superb, with a variety of cheeses (labelled with a short description), cooked meals (eggs, bacon, etc), fine bakery, and so on. If you speak Spanish, I recommend the workshop about dragonflies. They explain all the basics about these ancient insects with presentation based on a superb collection of remarkable photographs taken by an amateur couple of local photographers (María José and his --sadly-- late husband). At the end of the session another local woman (Marta) will show you her precious enamel jewellery and techniques.

This hotel has amazing views, exceptionally friendly staff and good amenities. We stayed for 5 days, but we will try another place if we revisit the area. The main issue with this hotel is that it’s older in construction and the floors and doors are extremely loud, and the walls are thin. The room was plenty comfortable, but nights were not restful because we heard toilets flushing and allll the neighbors moving around at all hours. We did love the private balcony for enjoying the views. Town isn’t too far from the hotel, but requires a drive. Luckily the hotel has a bar with food and a fancy restaurant. The views from the restaurant are the best in town, but the food was only OK. The pool is nice, but the spa was very underwhelming. The rate we paid was reasonable but expect extra charges for pool towels, and food and drinks to be on the spendy side.

Wonderful, quiet location overlooking the town and mountains. Stunning views from the bar/lounge with its panoramic windows. Comfortable and clean room and a fantastic breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly.
