Motel 6 Visalia, CA

The motel room was nice and clean. The location was good. Good place.

Bed sheet had cigarette Burns, hair all over the sheets to, and cockroaches I had roommates

Stay was fine. Only issue was all the homeless people roaming the property, but that’s a problem thoughout Visalia.

Honestly it was not horrible. Would I stay there again? Maybe. The room looked like it had been wiped down and linens changed. The only placed that looked uncleaned to the eye were the shower head and the curtain rod. Other surfaces seemed clean. None the less I found 3 roaches in the room. Granted, since I'm not a killer, I remove them and put them outside. So it could have been the same roach on 3 different occasions. The first time I saw a roach walking across the floor, it stopped when it encountered a hair. Somebody else's hair. That was a little gross but here's the thing. If you're staying here on your way to Sequoia or something, guess what you're gonna encounter in the woods...bugs. I wouldn't recommend walking barefoot on the floors, your feet will be filthy after a while, and yes there's bugs, but as a place to rest and secure youe belongings during a nature-themed road trip, it really was that horrible. There was a gross smell (more chemical/sewer gas type, not human-related) in the bathroom so I just kept the door closed. Bathroom door was tight in its frame so hard to open and close but not a big issue. Not much light in the room either, closet area was dark with no light at all. Really if the room cost about $25 less it would a good deal vs. the conditions. The receptionist was good, no issues at all with her. Didn't feel safe leaving anything in my car in this area. But that's not the hotel's fault, just the area.

For a motel 6 this place was better than most motel 6. The place was not fancy but it was clean and the rooms were not old and dingy. The front desk people were nice. My one complaint was the freeway noise but what can you do about that. Also it was interesting I was asked for a $60 cash deposit on check in. I got it back but that’s the first time I have had to do that.

Room had a tub but no drain stopper. That is the only critique I have. Otherwise it was quite comfortable. The AC worked and I got to enjoy my room at a cozy 65°F despite being in warm California, ice was available to the left of the office, gas station a 3 minute walk for snacks and drinks, checkin and out was quick and easy, staff was kind and efficient. Definitely would recommend for a comfortable stay on a budget!

The stairs are rusted with broken metal, walk up with caution unless you want to but cut with rusty metal - literally. They charge a $60 refundable cash ONLY deposit. Which was super inconvenient as we had to leave and go find an ATM. Floors were filthy inside, my son looked like a cave man after walking barefoot.

What may be unique about the property(s) we could ascribe as; kind in nature and curtious with other property as possible misguided inpolicy with consumers privacy.
