Pros:
- We had some problems, however, the manager was very proactive in rectifying the issues and demonstrated great leadership skills in mentioning the need for staff training and overall was excellent
- Good value and nice sea view from lounge
- Andy was very helpful, proactive, spoke perfect English and provided exemplary customer service. It’s service like his that make a holiday away great.
- The mature woman on the front door was prompt, courteous and very professional
- Very clean room
- Great service from the executive lounge staff and nice selection of food
- Good gym
- Executive lounge dinner is very nice and the breakfast is delicious!
Let downs:
- Check-in was unnecessarily burdensome - so we checked out the next day and the manager organised a better room rate at the Marriott (DO NOT go to the Marriott, it is horrible - instead we went to Kempinski - we highly recommend Kempinski or Nikko!)
- There was no welcome fruit when we first arrived
- Lower level room views will have obscured views (we were on the 20th)
FYI:
- If you book an executive room make sure that they take you go to the VIP room to be checked in, not the front desk. There is a marked difference between the two services!! Plus you paid for it and they have good snacks and drinks!
- It helps if you speak some Chinese as most of the staff do not, or at least try to - you’ll notice the difference in service attitude
