On arrival we were told the Aircon wasn't working in that room although we booked back in May, we could the fan provided. We were in the 3rd top floor, lift wasn't working to bring us down to ground level either. Breakfast was chaotic as hotel full..not enough attention to detail in filling up food for guests. When we went to checkout the lady was quiet abrupt. Have stayed here twice before but can't say was impressed this time with staff attitude on arrival no apologies for Aircon inconvenience not even told about the lift as we were staying on 3rd Floor.

Basic but clean and very convenient for M3/A34 etc. Good service at check in. Quiet room. Shower good; everything clean. Very good value for money.

Lovely hotel. But way too hot in the room. Can’t adjust the temperature to suit either. It puts us off staying again unfortunately. Might be worth allowing guests to adjust the temperature to suit their comfort .

This hotel is very hit and miss. If you get a well-maintained room in a quiet area it's perfectly adequate. This latest stay matched that description, but previous stays here have not. I was in a ground floor room - I thought the policy was to put single female travellers on an upper floor, but perhaps this has changed? The window didn't have a locking mechanism so although it only opened a limited amount it would be enough for someone to get their head in. Other than that, the stay was fine. Staff I spoke to were very welcoming. I've given a lower rating for location because it's in the southbound services on the M3, which can make it noisy. Plus, if you are travelling northbound you have to go all the way back to the previous junction and turn around which is very frustrating. I probably won't stay here again.

Hotel was clean, and handy location for the station. The room was quiet and although no A/C, a fan provided was quite adequate even though it was a very hot day. Bathroom a bit tired though.

Stay here a few weeks and had a much better experience. Checkin told we are full and you have to take a twin bed. Then asked to pay, however I had already prepaid. The room had a window which was an internal view. Bath struggled to stay filled as issue with plug. The light above the bath flashed on and off for a while then stayed off. The attiutide from reception was poor, we are full , nothing we can do!

the location is really good.. the cleaning is also the same.. make sure your room has a window 🪟. I didn't notice this detail.. but the beds are flexible.. there is no toilet bowl or broom for the toilet and shampoo was scarce..

It is exactly what it says on the tin! A budget hotel. We’re used to staying in Travelodge, Premier Inn and Holiday Inn but this was by far the most basic of them all. Odd set up of bathroom facilities in room. Sink and mirror in the bedroom and then straight into the shower from the bedroom too, leading to a bit of a flood of water coming into the bedroom when getting in and out of the shower. Toilet was in a separate closet. Tight squeeze at the end of the bed to get to the other side. Clean but small. Made our inside cruise cabin look massive in comparison. Breakfast is included but it is a very basic continental offering. 3 cereals, bread for toasting, mini croissants and pain au chocolat, cheese, ham, jam and marmalade.

I recently stayed at Elizabeth House Hotel in Southampton and had a very pleasant experience. The building has a charming, traditional feel with well-maintained interiors that give it a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to help with anything we needed, which really added to the overall experience. Our room was spacious, clean, and nicely furnished, with all the essential amenities. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well each night. The breakfast was another highlight – freshly cooked and served with a smile. There was a good variety of hot and cold options, and everything tasted great. The location is convenient – just a short drive from the city centre and the cruise terminal, with free parking on-site, which was a big bonus. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that some parts of the decor could use a bit of modernizing, and the bathroom in our room was slightly dated. However, everything worked well, and it didn’t detract much from the overall experience. Would definitely recommend Elizabeth House Hotel to anyone looking for a friendly, comfortable, and reasonably priced place to stay in Southampton!
