Paraiso del Sol y Paradero

Outdated rooms and buildings. Cracked floor tiles, missing light covers, smoke detector taped up. Absolute dive of a place. Food in restaurant cold. Staff at reception not interested when you complain. Only positive was good central location. Avoid!!!

We stayed at Paraiso del Sol from 13th of December till 3rd of January. Booked our trip with tourism agency and this was one of the options they offered to us. At first reading some of the reviews in ***********, or here on trip-adviser, we were not sure what really to expect, but at the end it turned out a very good experience. We were traveling with our daughter, who is almost 4 Years old now, so that means that the main thing for us was to find a nice quiet place, close to the beach. Location: 5 min. walk to the beach, two grocery stores within minutes walk, couple of restaurants near by. Nothing more to ask. Siam park and the big mall also within some 15 min. walking distance. Apartment: We booked 1 bedroom apartment, it had everything we needed. Kitchen area had all the things that we could ask for. Stayed in apartment nr. H19, which provided the view to the pool area and also we could see the ocean from the balcony as well. So we had great sunset view every day. Apartment was in good condition. Since we were there on December/January there was no need for AC. But I don't understand the bad reviews about the AC, because it's all ready stated in description before You are booking this place. Food: Since we didn't use the restaurant at the hotel, we don't have any comments about the food there. We cooked the majority of our meals at the apartment. Wi-Fi: Had to pay extra for this, but there are areas where it's free. You can choose for how long You want to have it (one day, two days, week) and pay at the reception. For the week the price was 7 eur. For us it worked like 50/50 of the time. But the Wi-Fi was not the main thing that we really needed, so... Facilities: Pool area was cleaned every morning. Our daughter could enjoy the kids pool which was 0.50 m deep. The pool area weren't that crowded for most of the time, so the pool chairs where available almost always. Nice pool bar where You can have everything from beer to cocktails and food as well. Since we were staying for three weeks important thing was to have a washing machine, they have washer and dryer, which cost 4 eur. They offer car rent at the reception and also some excursions. We used the car rental service, all good. There were possibility to rent a bicycles. It's not the newest facilities overall, but at least at the time we were there, the staff was upgrading some things all the time. Staff: All the best experience. Noise: All good! Of course You can hear some music during Fridays, Saturdays and since we were there on Christmas and New Year time there were more days of parties closer to the beach. But I don't think it's much better in the big hotels closer to the beach side, since there's the all action going on. Had some nosier guests for couple of days. But it really depends of the people, so can't leave negative review based on that. Overall, we had a great stay at Paraiso del Sol and would come back again!

Can’t knock this place, the staff were lovely, helpful and would do their best to help you with anything. Pool and bar area were very nice. Rooms not the best but you get what you pay for, found the beds rather uncomfortable, cleaners didn’t come in every day, and when they did I think it was a quick in and out, but we were fine with that. Location was good, really close to the beach, a bit of a hill to walk back. We will definitely be returning.

So I was apprehensive when I arrived at this hotel because of the bad reviews but the moment I arrived at 8pm 20th March I was greeted by the receptionist all my worries were gone, a lovely gentleman on reception who made as feel so welcome he told us that the supermarkets would be closing if we needed anything before morning and gave us advice or where we could eat at this time close by really went over and above. Everytime we went to reception we were greeted so warmly and friendly. We went to our apartment wasn't expecting much and we found we had a ground floor apartment at the back of the pool, H104 (I think) it was one of six in a block three ground floor three upstairs, we had a garden with sunbeds and a table, we were by the walkway so thought this might be an issue but it wasn't. We booked a room but got a 1 bed apartment, it was clean but really needs a refurbishment, I didn't use the restaurant but used the pool bar again staff fabulous food good and reasonably priced. The pool area surprised me most as it looks really small in the pictures but it was more spacious than I thought, I was told the hotel was full and there were always sunbeds to use. One of the reviews said the lifeguard was rude, honestly talk to him he is lovely, he just likes to help but when he shouts over to you as you are moving a bed he is not telling you off he wants to help you move it, and small floats and ball games were allowed. I am coming back to Parasio as the location is fab it is the road between Troya Beach and Siam Park, a walk down the hill less than 5 minutes gets you to the beach and restaurants Las Americas left and Costa Adeje and others to the right. Walk up the hill a bit steeper and cross the motorway bridge and you are at Siam Mall/Park 10 mins, bus station on the way to the left. One more thing about this hotel before I give you the pros and cons, the housekeeping staff are so helpful, seriously want to come everyday to help, and I saw workman there everyday, so the hotel is trying to update Pros - Staff, Location, Pool Bar, local shop keepers really helpful, three supermarkets 2 mins each way of hotel, pharmacy opposite and car hire and excursion bookings, Cons needs updating - thats it you cant complain of no aircon when they tell you there is no aircon but we didn't need it as two patio doors you can open with a chain to let the air in. Only issue for this room was it was opposite the pool pump room which you could hear in the lounge but not in the bedroom, its like a loud fridge which we thought it was for a couple of days.

Home time again after another great holiday here. Staff friendly and cheerful all time and nothing is a problem for any of staff. Until next year look after yourselves and see you soon paraiso del sol for another fantastic holiday. Miss you already

I had a nice stay, but the departure date I experienced a very bad customer service: unfortunately I forgot money and valuables in my room, and remembered this after only ten minutes taxi drive towards the airport. Of course I tried to call the hotel immediately, about ten times, but they did never answer - only an automatic voice that said the line was busy and to try later. My travel agency agent also tried to call several times later, but no answer. I wrote several emails, but no answer. My friend in Las Americas went to pick up the things I had forgot one hour later, but the money was gone. So watch out for disonest staff and completely missing customer service! After almost a week I have got no answer to my emails.

This resort is fine. I stayed here with my wife and two young children and we really enjoyed ourselves. I don’t have understand a lot of the negative reviews posted on this site. We paid approximately €600 for seven nights. Excellent value. The accommodation is a little dated but fine. We found it very clean. There is no Air Con in the rooms either but it’s not a major problem. Don’t you go on holidays to enjoy the warm weather? Positives: - The staff at the resort are very polite and friendly. - The resort is very clean. - The resort is very safe and secure. - very close to Siam Mall and the beach where all the bars/ restaurants are. Negatives: - The resort, and rooms need some renovations. Paint the buildings, and do up the rooms. Nothing major. - There’s no microwave in the room. - We had breakfast in reception one morning and it wasn’t great. It is €7.50 per adult, children are free. - Since there is no Air Conditioning, maybe just have a couple of fans in each accommodation? Overall staying here was a positive experience and I would recommend it to others.

Not usually the one to bother with reviews but I was browsing for a holiday for this summer coming and came across this complex which myself and partner stayed at in July gone and I just felt the need to let people know what happened to us during our stay here and just to be very cautious. First off it needs major doing up… secondly and most important I was very let down with this complex as money was taken from our room after the first day (which was very well hidden so we thought) reported the incident and was told nothing could be done even tho we could see our bags have been gone through … Biggest mistake ever coming here would not trust the cleaning team one other reason being they would walk in on top of us while sleeping or just relaxing without even knocking which was a big No no, did not feel safe or comfortable, do not recommend..

We arrived with friends , and soon got booked into our one bedroom apartment H39. We soon discovered there are 3 different sites so we were pleased to be in the main part over looking the pool area and a nice view of the sea. We would say the apartment was very dated and needed attention in some areas. The bathroom had clearly been painted over the tiles and this was chipping away. Given there's no fan etc it was no surprise there was some mould. The bath itself was damaged. The balcony door became impossible to open and close, to which was fixed a few times by the matinance team and was locked by a chain like your granny had on the front door at home in the 80s. Not overly secure...... The door to our bedroom was wide open against the wall so it wasn't until we wanted to close it at bedtime that we had to move the beds so we could. Albeit it couldn't open fully due to the beds!!! Most entertaining was the bedside lights. If you turned the lights on and then moved slightly in bed they flickered quite dramatically. Gave us a bit of a moment. Add that to the maintenance list.... We used the bar most days and all staff very friendly, lunch one day and was OK. The weekend around the pool was fun with the occasional guest using lilos and rubber rings. This fun came to abrupt halt on Monday. Yes, we understand the need for a life guard, but to be told off and tutted at for arranging 4 sunbeds was not what I come on holiday for. Another guest was berated for leaving her sunbed unattended while she used the toliet, and another old lady abruptly told off for moving a sunlounger which was blue alongside the newer ones!!! The pool area was currently being updated whilst we stayed there. The hotel is well situated for the beach, a 5 minute walk, and two supermarkets either side of hotel. We have stayed in many hotels in tenerife, but would honestly say we won't be returning to this one.
