Hotel Florida

This is a Gem of a hotel and a pleasant walk from Old Town (about 20 mins). Staff are lovely and friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is plentiful with a good selection at the buffet. Hotel is spotless and gardens, pool and communal areas are so well tended. We will definitely return.

We stayed at the hotel for just under a week and had a lovely time. Staff were all really helpful and accommodating - gave us tips for places to visit and where to eat. Whilst the decor isn’t necessarily to my taste (a little dated in places) the hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, the breakfast included was tasty, and the rooms had decent showers, air con and fridge. The pool area is really nice - cleaned thoroughly every morning although the pool was a bit cold (not terribly so). We’d avoided Italy for years because others told us it was expensive but we found that not to be the case at all. There are loads of places to eat nearby but our favourite places were in the old town which is a 15/20 walk along the sea front.

We’re back home after a fantastic stay at Hotel Florida. The location is great for Alghero & the beautiful old town & marina which is only a 20 minute walk. There are many, many beautiful beaches nearby within walking distance or a short drive. The staff at the hotel were all extremely helpful & very friendly. We had half board & were very pleased with the food & choice. All in all a wonderful stay at a really lovely hotel. Will definitely be going back. Would recommend booking a sea view room.

This hotel is in a perfect position opposite a lovely beach. The hotel is very clean and has a pool with sun beds and tables and chairs overlooking the beach. Also a nice covered patio area to enjoy some shade. There is a football table by the pool and two jacuzzi’s (cold). The rooms are nicely furnished with air conditioning, fridge and safe. We had a balcony with a view of the sea. The bathroom had a shower, toilet, bidet and sink with soap dispensers fixed to the wall and a hairdryer. Breakfast was the usual mix of eggs, bacon, meats and cheese along with cereals, fruit etc and slices of cake. There was a machine for hot drinks which always had a queue of people. Maybe a second machine would be more helpful. The hotel also has a pool table and an excellent gym for those who want to work off the extra pounds. We didn’t use the restaurant for evening meals but were happy with the bar service. There is a room to store luggage and have a shower before leaving if necessary. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is a good twenty minutes walk to town with several restaurants and bars along the beautiful wide promenade. The beach opposite has sun beds and umbrellas for hire which cost us €14 for half day or €24 for a whole day for two beds and an umbrella. There’s loads of space for those who want to take their own umbrella and beach mats. The sea is very clear and shallow for quite a way out. There is a small amount of sea**** along the water’s edge which does give off a slight smell of sulphur at times. Not enough to put us off going again.

This is a really decent hotel that worked perfectly for our 2-week holiday. The rooms were well equipped (balcony/fridge) and cleaned to a high standard. The pool area was lovely, always enough loungers, and breakfast fully stocked with lots of options throughout. Being opposite a sandy beach and 15 mins walk to the old-town, Hotel Florida has a huge amount going for it. Highly recommended.

Just back from a two week stay in Hotel Florida. Cannot fault this Hotel in any way. Beachfront location is excellent, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a room with a balcony and sea view, it was spotless and the had everything we needed, the air con was wonderful and well used in the heat! Breakfast was fine and covered all the basics. Would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel for a holiday.

Hotel is wonderful. Clean. Walking beach distance. Breakfast is delicious. Staff is nice, polite and friendly. Helped with orientation, what to do, how the city works. The shower is super nice. The bed is neat and comfortable. The pool is good but too deep for me and my son.

We were very disappointed with this Hotel. We arrived just after midnight on a late flight and there was not even any complimentary water or snacks in the room. You would need to purchase this from the bar. The mini fridge was empty, no kettle provided. Asked for an iron and was told they don't provide irons and would need to ask laundry service in the morning and pay a charge which is billed to your room. Nothing to hang your wet clothes on the balcony. Considering the beach is so close you would think they would have a drying rack for wet clothes. The TV was a small 20-22". Bathroom was very small. There were no maps and no tourist information. The taxi to the airport costs you over 40€ (10 min drive) when there is no traffic. Flight was early in the morning and was told they would prepare a cold breakfast packed which we could collect night before. Thought that was kind of them. But, when we went to reception was told there is nothing the person responsible must have forgotten. Wow amazing customer service they forgot!! The gentleman at reception in the morning was kind enough to give us bottled water and orange juice. Breakfast was the only positive about this hotel. The hot tubs we were told only had cold water. Interior decor could do with an upgrade. Rating 1 star and that's for the breakfast only. Very dissatisfied.

The staff members are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is excellent with the beach across the road. The old town is a 25 minute walk away. The bedrooms are small and the breakfast is disappointing. The fruit is mostly tinned and the cooked breakfast is poor.
