Umadewi Surf & Retreat

Umadewi exceeded all our expectations it was an amazing place to stay for our family of surfers right on the break. Beautiful well kept resort, beautiful friendly and helpful staff, nice restaurant and spa. Excellent value for money I cannot recommend highly enough UMADEWI Thankyou we will be back 🙏

Very nice hotel, super location on dedicated Surfspot. Friendly reception and very good restsurant. We stay at another hotel with a bad restsurant we went in 2 days 3 times back to visit the restsurant again.The prices where good to. Next time I will book this hotel

Umadewi has been recently revamped offering pool view rooms, ocean view rooms and soon to open standard rooms. It is a spacious hotel with lovely gardens and a pool for hotel guests only. Staff are friendly and professional. Would recommend

Simply WOW! We have just had 5 incredible nights at Umadewi Surf and Suites. Travelling with my husband and our 9yo son we stayed in a pool view suite as we thought he may want to be in the pool and we could keep an eye on him. The suites are very spacious and are simple yet sophisticated in their aesthetic with a ver large bathroom. The grounds are exceptional, featuring beautiful gardens and a lovely big pool which is very clean and cool and refreshing. The onsite restaurant serves exceptional food. With al a cadre breakfast included in our stay there was plenty of variety with the banana pancakes, eggs Benny and corn fritters at the top of our favourites list. We are several of lunches and dinners onsite and the chicken satay, (Bbq’d at the table) and nasi campur out of this world. There are plenty of options close by or within a short scooter ride if you’d like some variety. The location can not be beaten. Over looking the main surf break at Pantai medewi, you are constantly entertained by a revolving throng of surfers throughout the day. You can relax between each surf and then head out easily at a whim as the swell picks up. The staff and service is what makes Umadewi so special. Yuly and her team are so gentle and friendly, always kind and offering to help make your stay as perfect as possible. We have fallen in love with Medewi and Umadewi and we can’t wait to return (hopefully next year!)

Umadewi was even more than what my husband and I were hoping for — a pretty, comfortable hotel perfectly situated to surf Medewi. From the pictures online, it seemed almost too good to be true, but then was even better in person. The hotel is situated right at Pantai Medewi, along a small street where there’s a row of shops renting boards, and where guides are available to take you out. It is excellent for surfing, and Umadewi has a nice big pool to enjoy after surfing as well. It’s not ocean side, which I preferred since the views from the room/restaurant were unspoiled. The hotel itself is situated right at Pantai Medewi’s point break, and advanced surfers are in full view on the point break from the ocean view villas as well as the lovely hotel restaurant. There’s not a lot of action on the small street, but we didn’t mind since the food at Umadewi was so excellent. Breakfast highlights included corn fritters and burbur ayam, a rice porridge my husband was dismayed to try only on our last day — he tried it several other places in Bali and none compared to Umadewi’s. We ate every meal here, enjoying the variety and quality, and didn’t feel compelled to venture to another hotel’s restaurant. The staff were all so friendly, too, we felt at home and just so relaxed we didn’t feel a need to venture afar (though we did have a post surfing lunch at a nearby warung.). Dinners were relaxed and peaceful, no party vibe here. Our room was super comfortable, with a couple of chairs on a terrace out front, a daybed indoors, and complimentary beverage each day from the minibar. The fold-down vanity was a neat touch for keeping the room tidy and avoiding the need to clutter the outdoor bathroom counter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Medewi and can’t wait to return.

Loved the spacious grounds and trees. Pool and area very nice BUT go to the pool before 8 and claim your chair umbrella otherwise U miss out until sunset! Breakfast choices all were awesome. Service was very good when not busy....be patient or come back if it's busy. Staff everywhere were pleasant and helpful.

Close quiet. Muslim prayer however is a bit antiquated. Even for the local Hindu. Two mosque competing soundtracks. Yes early. And even at the sunset drinks. Mosque music. I still like Elon Musk though 👀
