Iglika Hotel Borovets

A last minute ski trip. We booked direct with the hotel cheaper than ***********! Staff were warm & welcoming, keen to please. Hotel was warm (rooms very hot!), clean & modern. Hotel room has a mini bar & nespresso coffee machine please note all are chargeable. Lots of USB ports as well as plugs! Only English speaking TV station was CNN. Facilities - spa lovely if a bit hot for me! Pool could do with being a fraction warmer. Boot & ski room is chargeable for leaving your kit in if hired from elsewhere. We used snow masters next door & stored our kit there each night Food - was ok not a massive choice, could have been a little hotter (top tip take from the bottom of the pile!) Breakfast limited choice of yoghurt & cereal but lots of hot options & bread. Delicious organic apple juice. Coffee served 4-5 but again no removal from the dining room! We ate in the hotel for 4 nights. Children struggled a little but there was always french fries, plain pasta & bread so could always manage. Only real quibble would be the echo within the dining room making meals noisy. Please note they do not let you even take a coffee from the buffet with you everything has to be consumed within the dining room. Hotel well situated for easy access to both ski areas. Would stay there again.

Don’t be fooled by the old feature of . This place has been refurbed and it’s great. Half has been done and I believe the rest will be done by end of 2022. Rooms come with bathrobes, slippers, super comfy beds and are modern and stylish with a great bathroom. Buffet breakfast is ace. We didn’t try dinner as we eat out as a rule. Spa is excellent. Selection of saunas, steam rooms and ice room. Nice sized swimming pool with a lifeguard. Massages on site. All spa is included in price as is the half board buffet. Factor that in when booking. Normally this stuff is extra and bumps up the price. All this included and the lovely staff makes this a great deal in my mind. The on site ski hire is very reasonable and the kit is modern. Lessons also available that are very reasonably priced. All in all value for money. It’s not the cheapest hotel in borovets nor the most expensive but it’s worth every penny in my mind. Oh and the cocktails… amazing. You must try them - so good!

We stayed in one of the two bedroom rooms which was lovely and spacious. As the other reviews mentioned it did contain a proper wet room but it dries quickly and didn’t bother us. The hotel is central to everything you need; to the lifts, the gondola and all the bars and restaurants. The spa in the hotel is excellent! The pool is lovely and it also has steam, sauna and ice bath facilities. We had massages which were brilliant and very reasonable. The bar area is modern, welcoming and a great place to relax. We found the restaurant to be perfectly adequate for half board. The breakfast was varied as was the dinner. The hotel is spotless and always has cleaning staff hoovering and washing the floors. We’ll definitely be booking for next year.
