Atlantida Lodge Cahuita

Nicely laid out site with individual chalets. Situated just over a small road from the beach the location is very good. The hotel bar/snack bar faces the beach and there is a small seating area overlooking the beach where you can have drinks. It is around 20 minute walk into town and 30 minutes to the national park and that beach. The hotel pool is very nice and the restaurant overlooks this, where you have breakfast. Our room had a terrace overlooking the garden with seats and a hammock. There were two double beds and adequate room, however, no hairdryer or safe. However, there was an issue with electrics as when I pulled my plug out of the wall the socket came with it, it wasn't even fixed to the wall! Breakfast was reasonable, buffet style with a lady cooking excellent fried eggs to roder. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is around 20 minute walk into town and 30 minutes to the national park and that beach. There are a few restaurants nearby for the evening if you don't want to venture into town.

I told them that I would be late and they said “no problem the guard will take care of you” and due to a Road closure at the Zurqui I got late as I said and I was locked out. Had to find another place even though I already payed them. I ended up at Oasis Apar**ents over at Cahuita also(the best place for the Money ) high end modern next to the Cahuita National park.

I started coming to Atlantida in September with my fellow classmates then stayed again in early November 2023. I love Atlantida! The place is situated on the beach. The rooms are clean, the ceiling fans are powerful and work great. The bedding is clean and beds are comfortable. Love the pool and grounds, with beautiful stonework made with local coral and stone. The breakfast is outstanding, and the restaurant offers typical Costa Rica dishes and wood fired pizza. The only thing I wish they could add is iced coffee!

overrated, you can hear every other guest from your room. zero privacy. poor customer service, specially in the restaurant; they can’t take up to one hour to make a fried rise with chicken (i waited cuz I had no other option).

This is the perfect stay to enjoy a walkable vacation on a beautiful beach with options for other activities from yoga, bird watching, and of eating at some of the many restaurants nearby. The breakfast was great and the staff friendly and helpful! The only thing is you may not want to leave the hotel!

We had a very comfortable stay. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Location is amazing on the beach and 10 min walk to downtown Cahuita. Rooms large and comfortable w/very nice facilities - pool, Restraunt, gym. We even had the opportunity to watch the local FC Cahuita football match on Sunday afternoon at the field immediately adjacent the property. Highly recommend!

Excellent customer service, plenty of parking. Room#7 was very spacious , including a huge verandah and hammock! Fabulous 24 hour pool, eggs done to order station. Beautiful grounds, Black beach is literally across the street, amazing a**osphere. We loved the skylight in the bathroom. There was plenty of shelving and storage benches. The lunch we bought lacked flavor ( chicken fajitas & grilled chicken). The towels are quite thin and need to be replaced. The room was hot as there is only 1 ceiling fan, however if you sleep with the shutters open, a cool breeze will come in.

Best to avoid Most hotels on our trip were great, this one I would strongly advice to avoid this hotel, staff was impolite to even rude and people of our group became ill and swimming conditions were very poor. There are many better options nearby.

Comfortable enough lodge - similar to others we stayed at during our trip to Costa Rica but unsafe electrics as my granddaughter and son in law both received strong electric shocks and sparks flying when they took a shower! Reported to reception but not sure anything remedial was done. Others in our group in other lodges in the same block also had problems with lighting failure and shocks from shower. Hope it did get fixed before anyone got a more serious injury!
