The Cross at Croscombe

What a little gem The Cross is. Terri the owner was so very warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. I would recommend the B and B to anyone wanting to visit Somerset. It’s 3 miles to the beautiful city of Wells with its stunning cathedral.

We stayed at The Cross in Croscombe for four nights over the Easter weekend. Terri the owner was the most welcoming of hosts providing us with tea and scones on arrival which was very welcome after a long drive. Our room was Yeo which is positioned at the front of the building. The room was very cosy, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The building itself has a very interesting history and has been beautifully renovated. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. Terri is very knowledgeable of the local area and offered us plenty of recommendations of places to visit, and also helped by booking us in to the lovely local pub The George for evening meals. The village of Croscombe is very pretty with a fascinating history. We would highly recommend a stay at The Cross and hope to return again ourselves sometime soon.

Delightful B&B, beautifully renovated with great attention to detail, spotlessly clean. Mary is an excellent and knowledgeable host, she greeted us with tea, hot cross buns and scones, and provided a wonderful variety of food for breakfast. The bed was really comfortable and wide.

Just back from two nights at The Cross. Feeling very relaxed! Terri is a fantastic host, great welcome with tea and scones. A delicious and very fresh breakfast and a very well stocked bar to enjoy a drink in the lounge in the evening. Our rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable and we had a good couple of nights sleep. Well couldn’t have asked for a better break.

Have to say we have never done a B&B, but with 5 of us we couldn't fine anywhere around to accommodate, wow is all I can say, Terri was so helpful and will definitely being doing more often after this stay. Terri was amazing, nothing was to much trouble. Cozy room, amazing breakfast and warm scone on arrival. Will be recommending to friends and family.

Our family of 2 adults and 1 child spent 2 nights at The Cross. I couldn’t believe all the 5 star reviews could possibly be right, but they are! The rooms are immaculately clean. We stayed in the family room, Chew, which has a separate bedroom with 2 single beds. Tea, coffee and drinking water provided. Room was warm on the cold nights. The whole house is so warm and inviting. The host was very welcoming. The rooms are nicer than the photos show. Breakfast was an absolute highlight, everything you could wish for. The bacon was so delicious my daughter ate 4 slices on the second day! Everything felt so clean and well thought out. We had lovely quiet nights, yes there is a small amount of road noise. But I am a very light sleeper and it didn’t bother me at all.

A truly excellent BnB. The property itself and the individual rooms have a distinct and individual charm and personality. The rooms are also clean, warm, comfortable, interesting and beautiful. The village of Crosscombe is a hidden gem and the Terri, the BnB’s host is outstanding. She is both personable and professional making one’s stay at the Cross a truly distinct experience. I would recommend coming to the area just for the charms of the BnB and the village. It’s proximity to Wells and the Mendip hills make it an ideal base.

Fantastic little B&B close by to the city of Wells. The Owner Terri was extremely welcoming upon arrival and throughout my stay. The breakfast was top class and a wide choice of options too. Highly recomend and will return on my next visit to Wells.
