Scottish Inns Galveston

When we arrived at the hotel on the evening of February 10, 2024, we paid CASH for the two-night stay we had previously booked. We were told we could park our vehicle there for free while we were on our Carnival Cruise (a five-day cruise from Monday, Feb. 12 thru Saturday morning, Feb. 17. On returning back home late Saturday night, I began to check/reconcile my bank card with things I had charged on our ship/cruise, and found that my credit card had been charged $225.64 on Wednesday, Feb. 14, by the Scottish Inn, describing the transaction as "AUTOMOBILE PARKING LOT/GARAGE". Part of the reason we stayed there at that hotel was because of free parking for those going on a cruise. We paid the shuttle drivers to take us to our ship on Monday morning (embarkation), and to pick us up on Saturday morning (debarkation). Which the shuttle company did, and we had no problems with that. Sheronica and staff were very efficient and professional with transporting us, and we were happy with the services. Still waiting to hear back from owners as to why the hotel charged us for parking when we were told (and understood) it to be "free".

I loved that the offer free cruise parking if you stay with them the night before you sail. Awesome benefit. Also, the $10 shuttle service to/from the port was wonderful. Checkin was a dream...person on th desk got me a room right by the stairway and offered help if I needed it for luggage (which I did not). I will be back again Feb 24th.

Loved the drivers who took us to are cruise and was waiting on us to pick us up. This hotel needs too keep this group bec the knocked it out of the park on everything.. well already looking to book again and are 5 kids as well. Thank u for the best experience.

Looks like efforts are being made to improve property. Outdated areas, lots of exterior work needs to be done. Rooms are not horrible but need a facelift.

Close for cruise ships and they had a shuttle available to take you, and you could leave your car at the hotel while on your cruise!

For the price it was great! We had the double Queen room and had a microwave, coffee maker and a fridge. Very clean, just very dated. No first floor, and no elevator to help with luggage. Breakfast very subpar.

The furniture in the lobby dining area is awful. The chairs and couch’s are coming apart!

It's a bit hard to get to as it is off the beaten track but really has an opportunity to be more than it is. Needs some upgrades in a big way but clean and beds were good.

The hotel is very basic but it served our purpose of a one night stay prior to our cruise. The free cruise parking is a big plus as the Galveston port charges $147.00 for 7 days! There is a shuttle bus that charges $10/person each way so you still save over $100. Breakfast is free too.
