Posthotel Rössli

Gstaad, a village synonymous with the rich and the famous of the world, steeped in luxury and Swiss views to die for. It does not disappoint!! Nestled at one end of the famous promenade is this beautiful chalet Posthotel Roessli, said to be the oldest hotel in Gstaad. It lives upto it’s name and tradition by which the Swiss were once famous for. It feels like a fairy tale to be in this wooded cottage. The rooms are of a varying sizes typical of chalets, but very tastefully equipped. We stayed on the top floor(third), which my daughter absolutely fell in love with,as her bed was neatly tucked into a corner. The room was well sized and the bathroom felt so bright because of a natural skylight. The receptionist cum owner Nadia is one of the most wonderful people we have come across in Switzerland. She not only guided us on the various activities and happening around saanen, she advised us on the best food and sights in and around Gstaad. Thank you Nadia once again. The hotel has a lot of choice to lounge around on the ground floor, with some awesome old world charm in its restaurants. It’s a treat to be surrounded by tradition and Swiss hospitality, and not by standard, mundane commercial MBA type hotels. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes traditional Swiss hospitality and a home away from home.

This hotel is full of charm, has a fantastic ambiance, wonderful chalet type rooms with all modern facilities, 2 wonderful restaurants and really friendly and courteous staff. It felt so good staying there and we will return on a regular basis - for sure !

This is a very nice Chalet/Hotel Located on the begin of the pedestrian area, its no problem to unload your car in front of the main entry and park behind and take a different entrance. The staff is very friendly, we have been travelling with 2 kids and we got an upgrade to a bigger room. The rooms are very warm, and the bathrooms have a good standard. It was quiet silent and we could not hear other guests. I would recommend for family ( there is no lift for buggy )

I have stayed at the Rössli, as well as quite a number of other hotels in Gstaad over the decades and I must say the Rössli is one of my very favorites. Their bedrooms and furnishings are really appealing - all warm wood, done in the traditional way, simple and beautiful. There is no clutter but only very comfortable, clean and warm. The Stube with local people is genuine which is rather hard to find these days. Well, now I have my own chalet so I do not stay in the Rössli any more - but receiving their email about their updates made me want to write about them! I am very happy to see from the pictures that the bedrooms maintain their warm ambiance!

We stayed here for a long weekend in Gstaad and loved the hotel. There's lots of glitz and glamour to be had in Gstaad (and you should) but the Rössli offers something unique. It's an old inn, family run, with a bar/restaurant frequented by locals. Our (superior) room (224) was very spacious - one of the largest we've had when staying in the Alps - warmly decorated with a balcony looking to the East. The bathroom was a little more basic though perfectly comfortable and with a dual sink. We enjoyed a Friday night dinner in the Stube which was delicious and with super service. Both supper and the hotel were very good value both relative to Gstaad and in a general sense.

Nous avons passé quatre jours dans ce joli petit hôtel charmant. Le bâtiment s’étend sur trois étages. Les deux restaurants, avec un petit bar et un coin salon, se situent au rez-de-chaussée. Nous avions la chambre double avec balcon 222 au 2e étage. La chambre est équipée d’un lit double, d’un bureau avec une chaise, d’un petit canapé deux places, d’une armoire et d’une entrée avec vestiaire. La salle de bains dispose d’une baignoire, d’un lavabo et d’un WC. Tout était très propre et il y a suffisamment d’espace de rangement partout. Nous avions choisi la formule demi-pension comprenant deux entrées au choix, un plat principal et un dessert. Les plats étaient très savoureux et bien présentés. Superbe carte des vins. Le personnel est très sympa et courtois dans tous les domaines. Le buffet de petit-déjeuner ne laissait également rien à désirer. Une multitude de brochures avec des informations sur les événements, excursions, etc. sont disponibles à l’entrée de l’hôtel. L’on trouve tout ce dont on a besoin à Gstaad. La gare est à seulement quelques minutes à pied. Nous étions très contents et avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet établissement qui se trouve dans la zone piétonne.
