Lovely historic hotel in an excellent location in the city centre, right next to the train station. Rooms and facilities a little dated, but all part of the charm!

Always enjoy our stays at The Royal Highland Hotel it’s excellent position always gives us a great base to get out and about, very nice room, and friendly staff make the stay even better

The staircase is beautiful, the staff are excellent. Food was great. Only downsides were the size of the bedroom. The room we got would be for a single person or one night but for four nights, there wasn’t even room to lay suitcases down on the floor.

Hotel could do with an update in bedrooms .heating is a bit of a poor show as well as the shower was dripping no pressure at all couldn’t was properly this morning . Not happy

The hotel was clean. The staff were really friendly in the room was small, but the bed was comfortable in the bathroom was nice. My only issue is that the windows let in the cold though the room was heated well. And also not being double glazing, let a lot of the outdoor noise Didn’t help there was an intruder alarm going off all night in an adjacent building. Obviously not the fault of the hotel, but double glazing would’ve helped. The art in the common spaces was fantastic. Well worth checking out.

Hotel is very dated, walls are paper thin and can hear every word said in the room beside. Never got a wink of sleep as the couple in the next room were roaring and laughing, shouting obscenities and as my 4 year old puts it “making animal noises”. The noise went on the whole night and only stopped at 8.30am when check out is 10am. Told receptionist but she didn’t seem too bothered, she asked why I didn’t phone but the phone in the room had nothing on it to tell you the reception number. She abruptly said well it’s 0, as if I’m supposed to be physic or something! Room was ok, bed comfy, bathroom ok.

Beautiful property, great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Now our go-to place for great stays in Inverness.

Good location

I enjoyed my short stay at royal highland every step of booking process was easy and location convenient for my planned trip. Staff were friendly the room was clean and had everything i needed for my stay and would book to stay here again.

The Royal Highland is a little bit like staying in the past. The building is wonderfully located right next to the station, it's very close to most of the shops and the City Centre. However, particularly the third floor where I was, does need a little bit of TLC which is understandable given the age of the building, I couldn't get my room to heat and it did feel a little bit like being in staff quarters. However, the room while small had everything that I needed, the shower worked fine, the bed was comfortable and the staff that I did interact with we're friendly and helpful and I would definitely use the hotel again should I be returning to Inverness.

Royal highland hotel is an old hotel and in some areas it can be done with a freshen up but on the whole we had a great couple of days. Staff all friendly from reception down to the cleaners. Continental breakfast was excellent plenty of choice and full breakfast was available for an extra payment which looked good. Meal at night was great and service was excellent. Right outside the train station with small amount of parking, buses were within a couple of minutes walk if wanted to venture further areas. Plenty of shops and pubs and eating establishments all around. On the whole a great weekend was had

Beautiful classic hotel. The rooms are very roomy and well laid out. Bathroom was great. Loved the lobby and decor.
