The Lincoln Hotel

Central location, with a nice breakfast. The place is in desperate need of redecoration as it smells horrible.

Me and my partner stayed here on 15th October for 1 night and for the price( £150) I was shocked at how grubby the hotel was. There was also an unpleasant smell through the hotel hallways, it is in need of an overhaul and decorating. very dated rooms and the bathroom was disgusting. The location was spot on for us. I really expected more from this hotel but you live and learn. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to any of my friends. Shame really as its in a beautiful location.

有點老舊，晚上燈光也不足，浴室浴缸非常老了，不太能使用。還算乾淨，穿過5個拐彎才能到我的房間，非常的漫長。

Went for a quite weekend break but got put above a wedding party on the Saturday night, no advanced warning otherwise we wouldn’t have stayed due to loud music, apologies for getting old …..won’t be back.. plus mould in corner of bedroom bit of an oput

Hotel needs better maintenance, sink plug stuck in, bathroom mirror steams up in seconds wh n in shower and takes long time to unfog (poor extraction), window next to bath/shower is misted but when light on the people outside can see you in shower still. Toilet only flushed if you held the flush down for 10 seconds. No plugs to the sides of the beds so couldn't reach phone if on charge at night, curtains in bedroom had gaps at ends so people could potentially see in if you were stood at the end of them. Room next to us door would not lock when guests tried to go out so heard the door shutting a million times when trying to fix it. Wedding was a n the hotel the same night we were there and we were put in a room directly over where the disco was, music, DJ and people heard up til 12pm (we were in bed at 10) so couldn't sleep as it was "very very loud". Why did we get put in this room and not someone who was there for the wedding party so it didn't matter to them?! Breakfast was ok but plates were very very hot and had no napkins near to pick them up with (sounds like it's a stupid moan but really burnt our fingers and nearly dropped the plates), no tea bags when we got in there, no sauces (red or brown), had to wait for bread. Overall not a good experience, I can manage with all of the above but being in a room directly over a wedding disco in a hotel with little to no sound proofing is unacceptable. Told the staff on the way out (politely as it was not the lady's fault).

We enjoyed the great central location, friendly and helpful staff and a good restaurant. Having paid extra for a cathedral view, it was disappointing that the windows were filthy both inside and out. The TV aerial cable was discoloured from where it trailed across the 'do not cover' convection heater: positioning the TV on the wall above the heater doesn't seem the safest option. Also the cleaner seemed to have sprayed the bed with Febreze one morning, including my iPad which I'd left out. I've not experienced that elsewhere but maybe that's how it's done now. Parking on site was plentiful and good value at £7 for the stay. The hotel should consider installing a charging point for EVs and PHEVs. More generally Lincoln is a great place to visit.

My first visit to Lincoln and this is tricky...all staff from reception to bar/restaurant and room cleaners were brilliant...welcoming, friendly, helpful and a joy. Rooms were very clean and cosy being kept very warm during what was a very cold spell...a little too hot for some ! And plenty of hot water for good shower/bath. Location was exceptional being opposite cathedral and close to a plethora of super independent shops and some restaurants which didn't have time to sample. Breakfast room and restaurant both have a great view of the cathedral through panoramic windows and you'll even be able to watch the Red Arrows practice whilst eating breakfast if you're lucky like us. So here's the rub...food...breakfast provides a great selection but the hot buffet was not as hot as it should be on both mornings (admittedly we attended near 0900) toward end of sitting but better warming facilities are needed...and you can order something freshly cooked if you wish, so bear in mind if happy to wait...I'm sure it will be good. Likewise evening meal, menu good. food presentation good but lacks taste/flavour..as if preprepared and warmed. Send chef to Castle Hotel where sampled excellent braised beef second night ! Also lift a bit dodgy but works. Lastly Car parking was excellent..very easy with good size spaces..a real plus. Thank you for lovely stay. I will likely return to check if comments taken on board as if food improved I would give 5 stars for excellent hotel and value.

Lincoln hotel is in a great location- very close to the Cathedral. Stayed in this hotel several years ago but was very disappointed this time. The hotel needs some tlc as it’s looking a little outdated and tatty. Very hard pillows and freezing cold shower.

Pleasant enough stay. Comfy bed etc Could do with some TLC in places. Staff I saw were friendly.
