Townhead Hotel

Had an amazing lunch here today. My friend and I had nachos to share as a starter which were delicious. I then had fajitas and my friend had gluten free fish and chips. both of us found the food so tasty and fresh. both totally wowed. Menu was excellent. not complicated but each page tempted you with really varied choices from simple snacks to full blown 3 course indulgence. plenty of choices for gluten free vegan and vegetarian so catering for all eventuallities. Good portion sizes and fabulous quality food. Staff were also so freindly, attentive, helpful and very tidy. the restaurant was very smart, beautifully decorated with plenty of character, really clean, had very comfortable seating and just overall such a pleasant experience. Noticed it had an award for '4 in a Bed' and was not surprised. A screen was showing a video of the rooms and they looked top quality. We had not planned this visit since we just pulled off the M6 in search of fuel and food and found this place next door to a service station only just over a mile off the motorway at the Lockerbie junction. I will definately plan it into my journey the next time I make a trip back up to Glagow from Lancashire and may even look into an overnight stay sometime as i bet they will do a cracking breakfast.
