We stayed here as a party of 3. We chose the hotel based on its proximity to the Royal Albert Hall as we were attending a gig and wanted somewhere we could walk back to within roughly half an hour late at night. The room, although spacious was rather dim and seemed a bit outdated. The bathroom could have done with a lot of TLC. We didn’t test the bath or shower but didn’t seem to get anything other than lukewarm water from the sink. The sink tap was difficult to turn off and made an awful noise when on. The room was chilly when we returned in the evening so we turned the air conditioning system up to max but this didn’t seem to make any difference considering it was supposed to be 30C. So we awoke to a still chilly room. There was some kind of metal access panel in the wall next to the single bed which wasn’t sealed well. As this led to the outside, there was a bit of a draft and we found it noisy when it was lent on during the night. My partner and I found the room location (basement facing the road) to be very noisy and this disturbed our sleep. My partner struggled to get much sleep at all. We were only provided with two extra pillows despite there being three of us. As we arrived back near midnight and very tired we did not wish to go back upstairs to reception and ask for another. We also had many issues with the lift. Only one was working during our stay and the other was very temperamental. When we arrived we entered the lift and selected the Lower Ground floor but the lift took us to floor 1 instead. We tried again and were taken to the ground floor. Eventually we got down to LG. On our way to breakfast the following morning we had even more trouble with the lift. We tried multiple times to call the lift and it wouldn’t come down it kept going up. We tried for a while to call a lift, with the housekeeping staff noticing that we were having significant difficulty. Eventually we decided to use the stairs, but we got stuck behind a closing door that required the key card, and my partner had already gone up not realising we hadn’t made it through the other door. So we returned to the lift and tried calling it again. In the end my partner got into the lift on the ground floor and came downstairs so we could come up. It was such a farce! The dining room was very small for the size of the hotel and when we arrived there was no one to greet us, eventually we were greeted but told there was no table for us as a party of 3. We ended up being put on a table designed for 2 with a staff member getting an arm chair from the lobby for one of us to sit on. Breakfast was a little disappointing, the selection available was not as wide as other premier inn hotels. It also wasn’t as hot despite going down during a supposed busy time period. Having stayed in many premier inn hotels, this is one I would not choose to return to nor recommend to others. The hotel did not match the photos provided on the website and seemed misleading, it was quite di
