Hotel & Restaurant Grotehof

Wonderful hospitality by the Poth family! This is a privately owned and operated well-maintained hotel just outside of the city center, but right across from the local bus station and next to beautiful hiking paths through the countryside. The guest rooms are spacious and very clean. Mattresses are firm. Excellent water pressure in well-appointed bathrooms. The restaurant is excellent. Great atmosphere, local beers on tap, nice wine list, and a very good seasonal menus. When we were there, chanterelles and porcini were in season, so the menu had plenty specials featuring locally foraged mushrooms. Just awesome! Free parking. The best part of it all, though: the incredible attention to detail by Ralf, Ramak, and their college-bound son Iliad - all of whom were always smiling, happy to help. What a great family!

This lovely boutique hotel with its five star restaurant, is a must stay for those visiting Minden and the northern Germany region. Ample parking, a fully equipped gym with sauna, steam and tanning bed, the Grotehof is perfect for winding down at the end of a busy day. And the morning breakfast (included) is not to be missed. Easy access to motorways and old town Minden, there are walking and biking paths outside the front door. The staff is exceptional.

Stayed for 4 nights while working in Minden. Hotel is lovely, very clean, smells nice and the staff are so friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for you. The even have staff that speak English which is great. Rooms were very comfortable and free Wi-Fi too. Had dinner in the restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you for a great stay.

Unsere Reisegruppe kam erst abends sehr spät an. Nichtsdestotrotz wurden wird sehr herzlich empfangen. Das freundliche Personal war stets hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Leider hatten wir zu wenig Zeit, es zu genießen.
