Sandals Montego Bay All Inclusive - Couples Only

This property earned five stars for its excellent service, great food and proximity to the airport. We stayed in an oceanfront honeymoon club level room with tranquility soaking tub. Overall, I thought the room was lovely. It’s been nicely upgraded and has a sizable closet and huge walk-in shower. The room overall is a little smaller than other Sandals rooms we’ve stayed in (this was our 10th Sandals stay and 9th Sandals overall). Bed was comfy and room was clean. Kudos to housekeeping for doing an excellent job. As always, service and staff were excellent. We’d like to shoutout Leroy at the Latitudes Bar, which is a tranquil, secluded bar over the water with hammocks (our fav bar there). Terry Ann at the bar by Mariners kept the drinks flowing and conversation going; very fun. Butch’s - Absolutely go for a la carte breakfast. (No reservation for breakfast needed. Breakfast ends promptly at 11, not available Sundays). We had breakfast there twice and enjoyed steak and eggs, a lobster and crab omelette and smoked salmon Benedict to give an idea of the menu. We had a lovely birthday dinner there for my husband but it’s hard to get in for dinner, so book a reservation as soon as you arrive! (Only restaurant that requires a dinner reservation). I always recommend Club Level or Butler so you have an advocate for anything you need from an extra bottle of bubbles in your room to towels…or snails. Example: I was craving escargots the entire time but Bayside was out until our last night, Sunday. Knowing we had a reservation at Butch's, Cory the concierge made it happen. I had escargots to go as my appetizer. So. Good. Would I have been ok without the food before the food? Of course. But he went above and beyond. Speaking of food before the food, soy is excellent for an entire meal or a heavy appetizer of a couple sushi rolls. The champagne roll was our favorite. (Opens at 5:30 nightly) Much love to the spa and Alecia for a great raindrops dream massage. If I had to find a negative it would be the smaller pool sizes. Example: the pool by the piano bar had 18 chairs and all were taken by butlers early on for their guests. That said never had a problem finding a chair on the beach. EXCURSION: We wanted something close, and loving scary stories, we opted for a night time tour with Island routes of the Rose Hall Great House down the road. A private driver takes you to the 6,000 acre property, where you go on a guided spooky tour learning about the “White Witch”. We enjoyed the tour very much and learning more about the culture and history of the plantation. Plus, actors dressed as ghosts scared my husband so it was priceless.

Thought long and hard about the scoring of this review as we chose the wrong resort so that isn’t their fault However when looking at scores for other places that we loved I feel I have scored correctly We chose wrong. We’ve been to 2 other sandals resorts and loved them . See previous reviews but this one was wrong for us on many levels and was a poorer resort in its offerings It’s too busy and brash for us with many groups here. The sandals brand is sold on being for couples but not really here! Yes lots of couples but lots in big groups. And a great sense of entitlement from many guests showing a lack of consideration for others. The overall look of the resort on a beautiful beach is superb and the grounds are beautiful and so well kept. The staff are very friendly too and all smile and say hello ( with the odd exception) Location 10 minutes drive from the airport and from the backs of the rooms ( Almond) you can see the airport runway! From late morning to early evening you can hear and see planes taking off! It’s not too disturbing. It’s not like being on the flight path for Heathrow but for 10 seconds or so you do hear the aircraft each time one takes off. Welcome Compared with other sandals check ins it wasnt very friendly. There was just us and one other person ( where was his partner?) and we were the only ones staying club. Concierge brought us a cold towel then someone else took us through to the club lounge to check in! I think we were then passed through a couple of others before one of them took us to our room. Brief tour and that was it . No details given on resort/ restaurant opening and closing/ use of app/ Gina etc . At other sandals we have found this a bit drawn out but this was completely the other way and we would have liked a bit more info on the place really particularly as work is being done on the main restaurant building and this has impacted When and where places are open. Accommodation/ room In Almond building on 3rd floor. Great view. Quiet. Comfortable all we needed. Club room so have their facilities too which include full mini bar with spirits stocked up daily . Also room service if required - we didn’t use this but could see a lot did by number of plates outside rooms. Club lounge available with sofas, drinks and tvs Food/ dining Overall poor. Best meals were Butches, Soy and Cucina Romana for breakfast and dinner - Italian The rest quite poor to average. Cold food at Bayside dinner ( French) and uncooked vegetables Very poor at Stewfish, again cold and waitress just didn’t seem interested Tokyo Jos! Great concept but poor delivery. Waitress rushed through her script, didn’t ask us if we wanted drinks so we had to get own from bar which she then told us off for doing ( Racquel) and just mediocre tasting food with too much oil. Sandals Montego Bay is a dream! Absolutely a paradise! Just came back from our 2nd trip there and can't wait to go back again. Resort is immaculate, so clean. The food is very good and plentiful and the drinks are so fun. Many great excursions to choose from and the entertainment staff is amazing! Tasha and Davia are such amazing singers and dancers! Amazing women!! So talented!! I can't say enough. Good things about Sandals Montego Bay! Definitely recommend!

The diddles are back from 9 nights in mobay. Wow, one of the best resorts we have visited. Food is very good and the staff are excellent. We stayed in a millionaire butler suite at the end of the resort. The roo. It is a few steps from the beach and amazing. Our butlers were great and sorted out a shady spot for us with a cooler, brought us snacks and generally just looked after us. Amazing drinks and food. Went to butch's twice at night as it was that good. The resort was spotless and the staff do a great job of keeping it thst way. We were a little worried about the plane noise but it did not bother us at all. We went to royal caribbean one night and thought the noise was more intrusive there Final.shout out to sean and the entertainment team. The energy those guys bring is off the charts.
