Very friendly staff and great location

After reading a few negative reviews, I was a bit worried about what to expect from this hotel, but was not disappointed. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, and such a lovely peaceful place. All the staff very very friendly, and we had a few late nights back to our apartment and were let in the gate without any complaints from the staff. I would definitely book this hotel again.

After reading the reviews I was a bit concerned about where I had booked. I brought my own towels and pillow cases with me after reading the reviews because of the charges for make up on the towels etc. I just want to say that all the staff were so friendly and helpful, it was quiet but just what a wanted. The apartment although basic was lovely and clean and a good size. I loved the patio area and convenience of AldiI would definitely go again to this lovely tranquil place

This is an honest appraisal of this hotel. The 300€ deposit is totally unnecessary,. I was here with my 20 year old daughter for a relaxing break. Everything in the apartment from the cutlery to the beds and outdoor table and chairs were the absolute cheapest of the cheap. The gardens and pool area were kept immaculately clean but there didn’t seem to be any “good vibes” round the pool area. The staff felt quite cold and didn’t go out of their way to make us feel welcome. It was a wee bit out of the way but Ubers were cheap and efficient. Would I go back? No. Would I recommend? Unfortunately, no.

Not my first time in Albufeira but my first time at this hotel and have to admit originally we only booked this hotel as it was arranged last minute and this was the only hotel in our price range. However we had heard about the €300 deposit and read the bad reviews and we were a bit anxious about our stay. We shouldn't have bothered stressing. The staff were very welcoming and helpful from start to finish. There was music round the pool. There was inflatables and there was ppl jumping in and nobody raised an eyebrow despite some reviews saying otherwise. It's a small and friendly so a little more relaxed but they still let ppl enjoy there holiday. The gate does get locked on a night but they are straight out to open it and welcome you back. And the place is very very tidy. Because of the deposit situation we did take our own pillow cases and towels however just to be safe. Knocking one mark off purely because you are slightly anxious over the deposit situation throughout the holiday and the showers leave a lot to be desired but apart from tht we were very happy with our stay.

Hi stayed here for 6 nights from Saturday 31st until 6th September, I must admit I was very sceptical about going after reading the reviews but believe me I needn’t have bothered , from the moment we arrived we enjoyed every minute, Room was clean and yes we did take our own sheets etc but when it came to getting deposits back it was no problem at all , Would I stay there again yes definitely all I say is don’t be put off by all the reviews obviously some are probably justified but that does unfortunately happen

We stayed at Balaia Sol in July, the place is amazing so clean and maintained to a very high standard. The Staff are one huge family and treat their guests as so. We are going back at the end of September for a lovely rest before the winter kicks in cant wait. If you want the best of both worlds on your holiday this is definitely the place to stay only a short taxi ride into the Old Town or the Strip. See you soon Guys !!!!

Do not go here if you are a bunch of young and lively people.no music allowed.you need a 300 deposit if you break anything.if you get makeup on towels your charged 40 euro.no jumping in pool lots of unnecessary rules.bar food and drinks prices are ridiculous.cash only.very clean place but will not be returning!!!!

To begin, the place itself was absoloutly lovely. There was lots of beautiful scenery and it was a really lovely reception and pool area. Pool was extremely quiet. There was never any difficulty in getting a sunbed, and although the pool is quite small there was very little people in and around it. Very quiet at night , our sleep was never disturbed , but upon arriving home one night late enough we were greeted with a very rude receptionist who acted like we inconvienced him when asking to be allowed back into our rooms. It was only about 1:30am. There was NO information online or on any booking sites that we would be charged €300 upon arrival. We were given little to no explanation or choice, and the signs around the room were very threatening. Any makeup, or any substance on the towels you were charged €40 PER towel. I found myself scrubbing a towel one night that i got a speck of makeup on to avoid this charge. We woke up early on the last day to clean the room top to bottom in order to avoid them charging us €300! The rules were a disgrace. you couldn’t enjoy yourself at all. there were too many! No ATM. No card machine at the bar which we also weren’t informed of. Staff were hostile and a bit rude , just not impressed at all . Quite far away from anything . A €4.50 uber everywhere , a BIG hill if you walked somewhere but in a quiet enough spot. Good place but don’t come here for a lads/girls holiday because the rules won’t suit you. It’s also too risky with the €300 deposit. You are constantly stressing .

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in Nono the manager and staff very hostile and cheap they tried everything to not give us are deposit back even though there was no reason not to would not recommend to anyone they expect €40 per towel if the towel is dirty

Pros: really pretty reception and pool area well maintained garden and pool. Quiet and safe and a bit outside the strip. Cons: Could easily get a 4 or 5 star rating if the following were addressed Rooms need modernisation Staff were doing bare minimum in terms of customer service Laminates with rules everywhere , took 300 deposit and felt like they were on a mission to not give it back, would reccommend taking your own towels and pillow cases as charge for getting make up tan or suncream on theirs is 40 euro per towel. Very tricky with two teens who use makeup. Luckily we read reviews and brought towels etc so got deposit back but didn't even use their towels for even drying hands and felt on edge. Not suitable for lads/ girls hols any age anyone looking to let their hair down,well behaved groups of young lads treated really badly like they were at school Even with young kids would be hard to not stain anything If they improved customer service, and relaxed rules for guests who are not excessively partying or damaging things it could be a much better experience, pool bar was dead no entertainment no table service and prices too high and no happy hour or incentive to stay there as no table service or entertainment i hated having to even buy a coffee there in the morning Overall for me and my girls we had a relaxing break but will be back to albufeira but not this hotel. I fully understand they must have had bad experiences of unruly guests but they are usually in the minority and should be dealt with case by case rather than tarring all guests with the same brush

Clean apartment, beautiful hotel grounds. However, met with a very hostile environment. Upon arrival, charged €200 deposit per room- which wasn’t stated before. Lots of rules. €40 for any stains on towels. 10pm curfew. €50 for lost key, only given one key per room. Not provided anything to wash up with. Cleaners supposed to come every 2 days, but only came once in our week stay, after we had to ask for them. No hotel towels to be used by pool, or music to be played, or no own food. Pool bar is cash only. Shower head is really low, have to take it off to use. Not much in the location, apart from an Aldi 15 min walk away and a couple food places. 15 minute drive to the beach in the old town, but luckily Ubers were cheap.

By far the worst experience I’ve had in any hotel in the world. Got charged a €300 deposit on arrival. A few other groups staying at the hotel told us they had only been charged €200 and when we queried further about this at reception we were met with a defensive attitude which we found very strange, they kept claiming that they’re an honest business. The amount of rules in the hotel is bizarre, no jumping in the pool, cash only at the bar (no atm anywhere near the hotel) no noise, basically no fun at all. The gate at the front entrance is closed after a certain time during the night so when you arrive back after a night out you have to wait at the gate for a member of staff to let you in and before they open the gate they grill you asking what room number you’re in etc. There were cockroaches in our room, the cleaners only came once in the week that we were there. We also only had one key between four people they refused to give us another one which we found really weird. The key that you are given is one that slots into the wall to activate the electricity and due to the fact they would only give us one key our electricity was off all day when we were out meaning all the food we had bought was spoiled as the fridge turned off when the key was taken out of the room. Shower head is also about 3 feet off the ground we all had to sit on the floor in the shower to wash our hair. The day after we checked out the hotel took a further €204 off my card with no explanation on top of the €300 deposit they had already taken. It’s also in the middle of nowhere with the nearest shop about 20 minutes away. Stay far far away.

Well were do I start. Hotel was spotless a bit out of the way but 6 euros on über was fine. Warning about this hotel. They take a deposit of £300, which is a bit much but if everything was ok we would get it back after holiday, The rules are a bit much but hey ho run with it as holiday and didn’t want anything to spoil it. Anyway we checked out last Friday 8th July and we are still waiting for deposit back. We were told by jet2 this week it could take up to 28 days which is absolutely disgusting On phone to Jet2 just now and they called hotel and were advised it can take up to 2 weeks as they hold on to deposit for 7 days then release the funds Please be very wary using this hotel and that is why I can’t give it anymore than one star. The communication from the hotel was ridiculous and they did not tell us it would take 2 weeks they advised it would be returned the day of checking out, which is now a load of crap as they told Jet2 it would be 2 weeks
